Tobe immediately noticed how far behind he was at this whole survival thing. Just as he was finishing up his makeshift sword for defense, Garu had already whipped up the sturdy structure for a hut. Annoyance bit at him, how on earth did he do that?"Showoff." He muttered. Tobe picked up his sword. Of course, his own two katanas where forged by the most skilled sword smith's in Sooga Villiage- though he had long forgotten their names. They did give him their contact information, but he was quick to throw the card over his shoulder the second it was giving to him. Tobe then looked at his own work. "Not bad. I don't understand why those morons spend all their lives training to become swordsmiths! This stuffs easy." He ignored how much it resembled the toy sword he'd swing around as a kid, though much more primitive and splinter-y. From afar, Garu shook his head.
Hours had passed, and the masked ninja was having trouble constructing his own shelter. Garu made it look easy, that bastard. He ignored how dark it had gotten since they washed up on the stupid island, he ignored how each time he tied a new beam of wood to his base, the structure would wobble and threaten to give in. "Come on.." Tobe grumbled through grit teeth. His patience was waning, and that familiar feeling of wanting to attack something, anything, was bubbling within him.
He managed to tie off the last log to his shelter with some grass twine, and the ninja stopped and held his breath. Slowly, Tobe stepped back and looked apon his work. It was definitely a shelter alright. "Y-yes..! I did it!" The ninja wheezed. "I did.." He looked over at Garu to ensure he was seeing this, his accomplishment, but his excitement was tainted by the sight of Garu's well constructed, cozy, and lit up hut. Tobe stared at it blankly. The feeling of punching that something, that someone, Garu, was at a boiling point. Tobe saw Garu poke his head out of the leafy curtained entrance to his hut. He turned slowly, back at his own jumbled mess of a shelter. "Curse soo...I HATE that guy-" Tobe drew his foot back "GARU!" He kicked the structure with all the force in his body. A loud Crack took Tobe out of his blind rage, and before his eyes the entire thing toppled and started falling towards him.
Tobe screamed and scrambled to get out of the way. Pieces of his cursed hut already began falling all around him. "HELP!" He cried, and squeezed his eyes shut. In that instant, his entire body was grabbed in a swift motion and dashed out of harms way. He was in the air. For a moment, Tobe had opened his eyes. What he saw was Garu with the most determined look on his round face, his black hair lashing behind him. The next moment, they hit the ground grunting, with Tobe under Garu's hold.
They flipped over, and saw the demolished pile of sticks and logs, Tobe heaved at what he was close to being buried under. He gulped, and turned to find Garu's concerned, questioning look. "I..!"
What on earth were you doing? What were you thinking? The questions were all held in Garu's expression. Tobe shook his head and quickly got up on his feet. "I had that all under control. You didn't need to swoop in." Tobe stated dryly, and walked towards his used-to-be hut. He heard Garu scoff in disbelief, and get up after him. Garu didn't need to say a thing for Tobe to feel berated and questioned by him. Garu was marching after him, and not taking his eyes off him. "I mean, why do you care. You have a perfectly fine shelter, It was not yours I kicked."In some semblance of stability, Tobe kneeled over and began rummaging through the pile. Garu watched as the ninja dug out an empty space from the rubble, until it was just a patch of grass surrounded by logs and twine. "You should go back. It's getting dark." Tobe stepped into the hole he made, and laid down with his back facing Garu, who never thought he'd see him this beat down. Pity ate at Garu, perhaps getting mad at Tobe immediately wasn't the best way to go about the ninja's outburst. A piece of log stuck his head, interrupting his train of thought. "I said go back to your shelter, are you deaf!" Tobe yelled.
Nevermind
Garu angrily went back to his own hut.
Authors note; sorry for the random update, I might as well have not touched this again because I feel that I won't be consistent in updating ever and I don't feel like I will keep true to the original voice of the story but whatever I felt like continuing a bit! I love me some angst
