Chapter 33

"As I mentioned before, we need your help" Sophie spoke up, earning a heated glare from the angry heretic.

"What, precisely, is it that you want, and what does it have to do with mine and my brother's mate?" Elijah asked sternly, standing in front of Sigyn protectively.

"We want to run Marcel and his vampires out of town. Klaus is the key. Everything Marcel knows about being a vampire, he learned from Klaus. Marcel trusts him. Looks up to him. He won't see the betrayal coming" Sophie explained.

"Yes. Well, as I'm sure you're aware, my brother Niklaus doesn't like to be told what to do" The vampire stated. He was going to also say that he really only listens to Sigyn, but he knew that wouldn't be a wise thing to say.

"That's why I brought you here. Do you really think that Marcel will welcome a hybrid baby to the neighbourhood? Not to mention your mate, who's the most powerful being in the world. He definitely won't like that. Convince Klaus to help us or we'll have to take extreme measures" Sophie said, making Elijah step forward with a glare.

"That sounds remarkably like blackmail" He stated.

"Like I said, I'm desperate" The witch said.

"Well, then. I have my work cut out for me, don't I?" Elijah smirked, though he knew that Klaus would come in a heartbeat once he found out who the witches have. The vampire then turned to Sigyn, and cupped the side of her face.

"I have a feeling they won't allow you to leave, so will you be okay here for a little while?" He asked.

"I'll be fine, 'Lijah. Just get Nik over here" She said, leaning up to peck him on the lips.

"I'll be back as quick as I can, Elskan" Giving the woman another kiss, Elijah sped out of the crypt and out to find his brother.

Klaus was standing on a balcony alone, overlooking the streets of the quarter. Not even a minute later, he felt a familiar presence behind him.

"Evening, Elijah" The hybrid spoke.

"Niklaus"

"What an entirely unwelcome surprise" Klaus joked, glancing over at his brother who chuckled.

"And what an entirely unsurprising welcome. Come with me" Elijah nodded his head to the door, but Klaus stayed put.

"I'm not going anywhere until I find out who's conspiring against me" The hybrid stated.

"I believe I just found that out for you" This caught Klaus' attention, his gaze now firmly on his older brother.

"And who pray tell is it?" He asked.

"That doesn't matter right now, what matters is that the said people who are conspiring against you have our darling mate" Elijah said, causing Klaus' eyes to go yellow for a second and his face turned to one of anger.

"Why didn't you say that earlier. Let's go" He said, marching away with Elijah in tow.

As soon as Klaus walked into the crypt, he saw his mate and sped over to her and pulled her into his arms, as he checked her over for any injuries like Elijah previously did.

"Are you alright, love? Tell me if they hurt you, and I will happily slaughter the lot of them" He said, but before Sigyn could answer Sophie spoke up.

"You're mate is pregnant with your child" She announced, causing a look of shock to spread across Klaus' face as he looked from Sophie then back to Sigyn.

"Are--Are you really pregnant?" Klaus asked softly, his eyes starting to water.

"I am, Nik. We're having our own little one" The heretic responded, a smile making it's way onto her face as she saw her mate's eyes brighten with happiness.

"The beauty of soulmates. Being able to have a child is one of nature's loopholes" Sophie stated.

"Oh, we're aware of that" Klaus said with a smirk, being that there is two lots of evidence that they can have children.

"My sister gave her life to perform the spell she needed to confirm this pregnancy. Because of Jane-Anne's sacrifice, the lives of this woman and her baby are now controlled by us. We can keep them safe....or we can kill them" Sigyn felt her heart drop in that moment, but she also couldn't help but feel a surge of anger run through her. Her mates especially were far from happy with the new information.

"If you don't help us take down Marcel, so help me, Sigyn won't live long enough to see her first maternity dress" Sophie threatened. Growling angrily, Klaus quickly wrapped his hand around her throat and glared down at her with his hybrid eyes.

"You dare threaten the life of our mate and my child! Threaten me all you like, but Sigyn and the baby are off limits" Klaus hissed at the witch, who was turning bright red and clawing at his hand.

"Niklaus, stop!" Elijah yelled, making the hybrid turn to see his brother holding onto Sigyn who also looked to be choking. The hybrid quickly let go of the witch, and sped over to his mate who now no longer choking.

"If you want Marcel dead, I'll do it myself" Elijah stressed, holding Sigyn in his arms.

"I linked her with me. So whatever happens to me, will happen to your darling little mate. And we can't kill him, not yet. We have a clear plan that we need to follow, and there are rules" The witch said, Klaus' heart dropping at the information. He knows that his mate can't die, but their child would have and seeing Sigyn hurt like that mad him sick to his stomach.

Klaus stood to his feet slowly, his face cold and his eyes darkened with pure rage.

"How dare you command me. Threaten me by using my mate and baby's lives against me!" He yelled angrily, stepping closer to the witch but stopped when a hand was placed on his arm and he turned to look into the eyes of his mate.

"Nik, please. Just listen to them. I can't unlink us because that would risk the life of our baby. I don't care what happens to me, but this baby is our main priority" Sigyn explained, placing a hand on her stomach. Klaus' eyes flickered to where her hand was, his lips twitching upwards slightly when he heard a healthy little heartbeat.

The hybrid knew that Sigyn was right. He was now going to be a father, and there was no way in hell that he was going to follow in Mikael's footsteps. He needed to do right by his mate and child, even if it meant agreeing with the horrible witches.

After leaving the cemetery, the three went to their new place of residence where they others were waiting for them. As soon as Sigyn walked inside, Damon had sped over to her and pulled her into a hug.

"Siggy, oh my god. I'm so glad you're okay. I'm so sorry we couldn't do anything" The vampire rushed out, hugging her tightly.

"Careful, Salvatore. There's precious cargo on board" Klaus said, gently pulling Sigyn away from Damon who looked at him in confusion.

"I'm not some ship, Nik" Sigyn rolled her eyes, but there was an obvious smile on her face.

"What does he mean, darling?" Kol asked in worry. Sigyn glanced over at Klaus, the two smiling before she looked back to the others.

"It seems that there will be a third little Mikaelson being brought into the family" She beamed, a hand resting on her stomach. The vampires were quiet for a second, Kol being the first one to speak up.

"Odin help that child. Having Nik as their father is going to be crazy" He snickered, which earned him a smack to the back of the head by Finn.

"Oh shut up. You're just jealous that you're the last one to have a child" Klaus smirked, watching as Kol glared at him but the hybrid didn't care.

"Congratulations, gorgeous" Enzo smiled, pulling the woman into a gentle hug before she was passed on to the others who gave her hugs and kisses.

"Well, I've had an awfully long day. I'm going to see the little ones and then have a nap" Sigyn said with a tired sigh, after feeling like she has been awake for twenty years.

"You go up, love. I'll be with you in a minute" Klaus said, giving her a kiss before she left them to go upstairs.

Sigyn walked into the new nursery that Enzo and Damon built and decorated themselves. Her lips curved into a wide smile when she saw her ten month old son and daughter, who were wide awake. She walked over to Helga first, who instantly brightened up at the sight of her mother.

"Hello, little princess. I've missed you so much" Sigyn cooed, picking the baby up before moving over to pick up her son, who was also happy to see her.

"And of course I've missed you, my little warrior. Were you good for your daddy's?" She asked, nuzzling her nose against theirs earning little giggles in return.

"I know you may not understand me much, but I wanted to tell you two that you're going to be a big sister and brother. Mama and papa Klaus are having a baby" She said, the two babies looking up at her in wonder. And for some reason they actually did seem to understand her, because their gazes looked down at her belly and they each gently tapped her stomach.

"Bubby" "Bub" Helga and Henrik said at the same time, both of them still pointing at her stomach.

Sigyn's eyes nearly bugged out of her head when she heard them. The two had started showing signs that they were going to speak, but they never formed a proper word. Until now.

"Did you two just say your first words? Oh my gods, you did!" Sigyn cheered, placing kisses all over their faces making them let out happy squeals. The vampires downstairs had heard the blonde, all of them speeding to the room to see Sigyn happily hugging the giggling babies.

"What happened?" Finn asked, making Sigyn turn to him with a blinding smile.

"I told them they were going to be a big brother and sister, and they looked down to my stomach and pointed while saying 'bubby' and 'bub' as if to say baby" She explained, earning looks of surprise from the group.

"They said their first word?" Elijah asked, his eyes filling with tears along with Finn's but not because they were sad, but because they were so incredibly happy that their babies were growing up so fast.

"They did" Sigyn cried, hugging her babies close once again telling them how much she loved them before handing Helga to her father and Henrik to his. The woman then left the room and went to her room, where she was going to have a nice long nap.

As she was getting changed, Klaus walked into the room and leant against the door frame while watching her with a smile.

"You gonna stand there all day, Mr Mikaelson?" Sigyn's voice broke him from his daze, a smile appearing on his face as he walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her waist. His hands resting on her stomach, his smile widening when he listened to his child's heartbeat.

"How do you feel, Nik?" Sigyn asked softly, watching him from the vanity mirror.

"About what?"

"About being a father?" The blonde asked, turning around in his arms and wrapped hers around his neck.

"I'm not going to lie, love. I am a little nervous and possibly scared but I also couldn't be happier about becoming a father. You've given me something amazing, and I can't wait until they're born" Klaus answered honestly, bringing his hand up to push a stray hair away from her face. He then leant down to bring his lips onto hers, the two sharing a short but heated kiss.

"I love you" He whispered, resting his forehead against hers.

"I love you too, my darling"
