Chapter 26

It had been a few weeks since Sigyn told Damon that she had found Enzo, and her mates were going over the plans once again to make sure.

Sigyn hated that she couldn't go with them, but for her safety she was to stay at the Mikaelson mansion along with Damon, so she wasn't alone.

Sigyn had just said her goodbye's to her mates and Rebekah, and moved to sit in the lounge room where Damon was. The man had been pacing nervously in front of the fireplace with a glass of bourbon in hand.

"Do you think he hates me?" Damon suddenly asked, making Sigyn turn away from her book.

"I don't think he hates you, but I'm not going to lie he will be pretty mad at you"  The blonde answered carefully, hoping not to upset him.

Damon sighed, knowing that his best friend was right. He also had a feeling that there might be some punches thrown here and there, but it's not like Damon doesn't deserve it.

The heretic could see that the Salvatore was working himself up, so the woman tried to get up but failed miserably.

Noticing this, Damon gently helped her up before she quickly wrapped her arms around his waist. Damon instantly wrapped his arms around the woman, resting his head atop her head.

The two didn't let go of each other for quite a while, but they eventually decided to cuddle up on the couch.

Four hours had gone by since the Mikaelson's left the house, and they thankfully succeeded in the rescue mission. Enzo was very confused and cautious about the ancient vampires, but they promised that they meant well.

When they arrived at the mansion, they noticed how quiet it seemed to be. After inviting Enzo inside, the group walked around to find Damon and their mate.

When they walked into the lounge room, they instantly smiled at the sight of their mate fast asleep next to her also fast asleep best friend.

Kol knelt down next to the couch, and lightly rubbed her face with his pointer finger. His smile widened when he saw her move closer to his touch, and he almost didn't want to wake her up but knew that he needed to.

"Darling, you need to wake up now" It took Sigyn a few seconds for her to realise that Kol was talking to her, before he eyes snapped open and a wide grin appeared on her face.

"You're home" She said, then looked up to see the others.

"You're all home. Thank the gods" She breathed out happily, and got up off the couch with the help of Kol. After giving them all hugs and kisses, even Rebekah, Sigyn saw who looked to be Enzo St John.

"You must be Enzo. I'm Sigyn Lothbrok, it's lovely to finally meet you" The woman smiled, sticking her hand out for him to shake. The man didn't seem to hesitate like he did with the others, and shook her hand gently with a small smile.

"And you must be the genius behind the plans to get me out of that hell hole. I honestly can't thank you enough for that" On the journey back to the mansion, the Mikaelson's explained how they found him etc.

Enzo was honestly surprised that a woman he has never met, made plans to rescue him. He was very thankful, will be sure to pay her back for it.

"There's no need for that, honestly. You've been there far too long, and it's about time you got the freedom you deserve. I would've gone with them, but as you can see I am not in the best shape" She chuckled, pointing at her enlarged stomach.

Enzo had gone to reply, but his whole face changed when he saw who was behind Sigyn. Noticing his look, Sigyn had moved out the way and into Klaus' arms.

"If you two are to fight, i suggest you do that in the backyard and not inside" Elijah informed Damon and Enzo, the latter looking like he wanted to throw the raven haired man into a wall. In an instant, Enzo had grabbed Damon and the two disappeared out of the house.

"Are you all okay? You didn't get hurt or anything?" Sigyn asked, looking to her mates and best friend who looked okay, but that didn't stop her worrying over them.

"We're fine, darling. Nothing we couldn't handle. Plus, the Augustine organisation is no more, so we needn't worry about them coming back ever again" Kol answered, pulling his mate into a hug.

"I'm glad. I still hate that i couldn't go" She pouted, moving to hug both Finn and Elijah.

"We know, Elskan. But it was safer for you to stay here" Elijah stated, giving Sigyn a look making her huff.

The pregnant heretic opened her mouth to reply, but stopped when she heard what sounded like a tree breaking and falling. Curious, the group walked towards the backyard and noticed Damon slowly getting up from the ground, which was where the tree had fallen.

"Could be worse. Damon's head could be in one area, while his body is in another" The hybrid snickered, earning an elbow to the ribs by Sigyn just as Enzo and Damon walked towards the group.

"Feel any better, Enzo?" Sigyn smirked, looking at the vampire who was watching his busted knuckles heal.

"Much. Although, it'll take some time to forgive him" He answered, giving Damon a small glare before turning to the blonde heretic with a smile. Sigyn walked over to the vampire, hooking her arm through his.

"Let's get you something to eat and drink. I know for a fact that you haven't had a proper meal in a very long time" She suggested, smiling when she saw Enzo's face brighten.

While the two walked back into the house, the Mikaelson's and Damon watched the two with a smile.

"She really is one of a kind, huh?" Damon spoke up. The Salvatore felt so grateful to have a best friend like Sigyn. She had done so much for him and one day he will pay her back.

"She certainly is"

In the Mikaelson's kitchen, Sigyn was cooking feast because she wanted to make sure Enzo was fed and also for herself and her mates.

"So, how did you become a vampire? Because if i remember correctly, we can't procreate" Enzo asked, sitting at the counter with a glass of blood in hand.

"Well, I was cursed back in eight hundred and twenty-one by my ex-brother-in-laws wife. Now the reason I'm pregnant, well it's because of the soulmate bond. Apparently there can be loopholes when it comes to soulmates. And said loophole is that vampires can procreate. So here i am, pregnant with twins" Sigyn explained the very short version of her story.

"You were turned over eleven hundred years ago!?" The St John vampire exclaimed, nearly choking on his drink.

"I sure was. She cursed me because i killed her husband, and I also wasn't that great of a human to be honest" The blonde answered, turning to Enzo with a sheepish smile.

"And how do you feel about being a mother?" He asked.

"At first i was mortified, so much in fact that i fainted. But now, I'm really happy. There others are also very happy, especially Damon who is possibly the proudest uncle ever. Oh, and don't get me started on Rebekah who has already spoiling the twins. I swear they have more clothes than all of us combined" Sigyn laughed, moving around the kitchen putting multiple different foods in bowls and plates.

"I've only known you for a small while, but i can tell that you're going to be an amazing mother" Enzo complimented, making the heretic freeze and turn to him. Her blue eyes started to water, making the vampire panic thinking that he said something bad.

"I'm sorry, did I say someth---" He started to say, but was cut off when Sigyn pulled him into a hug.

"Thank you, Enzo. I really appreciate it" She cried, making the man relax and return the hug.

"Is everything alright in here?" Klaus questioned, when him and the others walked into the kitchen to see their mate crying and hugging Enzo. Sigyn pulled away with a sniffle, and smiled at her mates and best friends.

"I'm fine, just the hormones. Anyway, the food is ready" Everyone laughed in amusement as they watched the heretic pile her plate with food, before stuffing her face without a care in the world.
