Education on the Isle is not good. They have close to no materials; the buildings are old and musty. One of the schools used to be a morgue. There's no temperature control, so it can be below freezing in the middle of winter.

Three schools are on the Isle: Dragon Hall, Serpent Prep, and The Witch School. All serve kids grades 1-9 or ages 5-14. There are four classes in the morning, then an hour-long lunch break, then another three classes in the afternoon. The schools don't serve lunch, so the kids leave and eat elsewhere, but most don't return to school.

The schools offer classes like Selfishness 101, Evil Schemes and Nasty Plots, Advanced Vanities, and Wickedness. They also provide some basic science and history classes. Contrary to popular belief, they don't teach you how to read or write; they expect you to know how. In history classes, they teach it from the villain's point of view.

Dr. Facilier runs Dragon Hall, and a pirate runs Serpent Prep. Teaching is a well-respected profession on the Isle, and teachers get paid more than any other job on the Island.

Dragon Hall and Serpent Prep get funding from the student population. They charge their parents different amounts depending on how high they're ranked on the Isle. But The Witch School is funded by the Witches on the Isle.

There is no system for students who have disabilities or don't speak English. Generally, students with disabilities or who don't speak English don't go to school and learn from other places. Harriet Hook is known for teaching kids how to speak English, read, and write. She also helped create Isle Sign Language after figuring out that a child can't hear. Each gang generally has a system to help kids who can't attend Dragon Hall or Serpent Prep.

The school doesn't teach them essential parts of adulthood, like sex-ed. Many kids, especially the older generation of VKs, learned from experience. But now they are leading the younger generation to what they know so they don't make the same mistakes that they made.

The education system on the Isle is not tremendous and leaves many children out, but it's what they have and will probably never change.
