Chapter 65 - Strategic Chaos! Minerva's Wickedness!

The crowd at the coliseum roared in excitement after witnessing such a bombastic battle. "Fairy Tail's Axel Rosewood has won the Power of Minds showdown! The top spot was snatched from Gray Fullbuster during Hidden, the very first game, but was avenged by Axel in the end!" Chapati shouted.

"Uwah! The unbeatable Rufus has lost!" Mato exclaimed. "What a one-sided battle that was!" Chapati said. "Indeed, Axel's battle knowledge proved to be enough," Yajima said. "As a result, Fairy Tail scores a valuable point!" Chapati exclaimed.

"All right! Way to go, Axel!" Macao shouted. "I hope he'll go all-out now!" Wakaba exclaimed. "He fought wonderfully!" Mavis said. "You were exactly right, First Master. Emotions do sometimes exceed calculations..." Makarov said.

"Firm belief in certain victory... Calculations are wholly meaningless without that. I simply bet everything on his feelings. I believe Axel's inner strength surpassed Rufus's in the end," Mavis said. "Indeed, we can't afford to lose now... For Natsu and the rest of the Lucy Rescue Team, as well," Makarov said.

"The battle is just beginning! Prove to everyone that Fairy Tail is the most powerful guild in all of Fiore!" Makarov shouted. "Now, then! Let's have a look at the scoreboard! In first place is Fairy Tail, with fifty points! Five members remain: one leader and four normal members!" Chapati exclaimed.

"Sabertooth is in second place with forty-nine points, 'kin! Rufus has lost, but based on the score change, it looks like three normal members and one leader remain, 'kin," Mato said. "Lamia Scale is also in second place, with forty-nine points. One leader and two normal members are left," Yajima said.

"In fourth place is Mermaid Heel, with forty-three points. One leader and one normal member remain. It looks like Fairy Tail has the top spot all to itself!" Chapati said. "Plus, all five of its members are still in the game," Yajima said. "Fairy Tail has a serious advantage, 'kin!" Mato said.

"So you've been beaten, Rufus? Uh oh... Minerva-sama won't be too happy about that..." Hikari laughed nervously. "Fairy Tail truly is formidable. Even so... Until I defeat you both, Gajeel and Axel, I can't afford to lose to anyone," Rogue muttered.

Minerva smirked. "Is Sabertooth's fate to crumble away now, or will your strength carry us back to the top, Sting?" Minerva asked, laughing to herself, "Whatever the case, this will be truly interesting." Sting sat out of sight from any of the lacrima feed cams.

On the fourth day, the night of the Twin Dragons' defeat. At Crocus Gardens, Sting had punched a hole through Jiemma's stomach. "N-No way..." -"He took out our master!" -"What happens now?!" -"Sting..." Rogue uttered. Frosch was in his arms, watching as he was shaken up from the events prior.

"S-Sting... You... will pay for..." Jiemma uttered, laying on the ground. "This is for the best," Minerva spoke up, stepping forward. Both Sting and Jiemma turned their way. "Your reign of terror ends here and now, Father. Sting has surpassed you. He is a worthy candidate to be our new master," Minerva said.

"Sting, our new master?" Olga asked in disbelief. "M'lady," Sting uttered. "Minerva! How dare you--!" Jiemma hissed. "Be silent. According to your mantra, Father, we have no need for losers," Minerva said. Jiemma glared up at her.

"Sting. You lacked something these Natsu and Axel fellows had. The power of feelings," Minerva told Sting. "The power of feelings?" Sting repeated. "It seems you were unwittingly influenced by my father's way of thinking. "Friends are unnecessary. Strength is everything." But, deep down, you're different. Your feelings for Lector give you strength," Minerva told him.

"The power of feelings..." Rogue uttered. "What does she mean?" Frosch asked. Minerva reached for the beads on Jiemma, "Sting. You've gained that strength. You can even surpass Natsu now," Minerva said. Sting looked down, "M'lady... I can't..." he uttered.
