Fourth of July will always be my favorite holiday. For two reasons. One, it was in the middle of summer. Two, it was also my birthday. I also just loved the purpose of the holiday.

Today, me and Joseph were invited to his dad's house to celebrate the fourth, along with the family. I was totally fine spending my birthday around the crew.

I scrambled through my closet, trying to find a nice outfit to wear. I ran my hands through my multiple sundresses, attempting to find the best one. I let out a sigh of relief as I found a cute sundress for the occasion. I slipped the dress on quickly, as well as sliding on a pair of tan wedges.

I head to the bathroom and start fixing up my hair. I put it in loose waves, falling right below my shoulders. I quickly apply some light makeup, adding my own little spritz of glitter as well.

Once I was satisfied with the look, I turned off the bathroom light and grabbed my purse.

"You ready to go babe?!" I yelled as I arrived in the living room. I heard footsteps come down the stairs, soon seeing Joseph walk into the room.

"I'm ready, birthday lady." He replied, causing me to chuckle a little. We both head out to the car together, him getting in the drivers seat while I sit in the passenger seat.

"You excited?" Joseph asked as we pulled out from the driveway. I smiled and hummed.

"So excited. I want nothing more than to spend my birthday with the fam."

"I bet." He replied, placing his right hand on my thigh. I smile at the touch of his warm hand. I place my hand on top of his, rubbing his hand slowly with my thumb. It was like that the whole car ride to his father's house, which was only 10 minutes away.

"There's the birthday lady!" Joseph's mom, Talisua, exclaimed. I smiled brightly as she engulfed me in a hug.

"How are you doin' darling?" She asked me as she pulled away from the hug.

"I'm doing great! Thank you for letting this happen."

"Of course sweetie. It's your special day. Come on inside, everyone is either there or out back."

I nodded my head, making my way inside. Joseph didn't follow behind me, due to getting caught up by his mother. I set my purse down on the dining table before making my way out back. I looked around, seeing the twins, Joe, and all their significant others, as well as the parents.

"Damn! Y'all started my party without me."

"NOVALIE!" The girls cooed, pulling me into a hug. I giggled and wrapped my arms around them.

"Happy birthday!" Galina exclaimed, soon followed by happy birthday's from the others.

"Thank y'all so much! Now let's get this party started-"

A loud, startling pop interrupted me. Everyone looks behind me, seeing Jon standing over by the island in the kitchen, holding a bottle of wine in his hand. He had a guilty look on his face, his body hunched up.

"Sorry y'all." He apologized, causing everyone to laugh. I look over at Trinity, who was shaking her head with some chuckles.

"Trin, why did you marry him?" I asked, exchanging glances between the two.

"To be honest, I don't know anymore." She joked, watching her husband pour the wine in a glass.

The party was going amazing so far. Everyone was having a blast. My dad eventually showed up, hanging out as well. It was a jam packed day.

It was currently 9:00, and the moon was shining bright amongst all of us. I was currently sitting on the patio with the twins, Trin, Takecia, and Joseph by my side.
