I can't take it anymore

I just came back from work, and he hit me and then left.

I don't even know what I did. Well, it's not like I ever do anything.

And now there's blood running down my arms.

While cleaning my face and arms, I hear my phone ringing, and I go check who it is. It's Anaya, my best friend. She doesn't know exactly what's going on in my life, but I think she knows that there's something happening and it isn't good.

"Hey Ali, how are you?" she asks. "Ana, it's only been 30 minutes since we saw each other, but I'm fine. How are you?" "Yes it has been 30 minutes, but you already sound different. Are you OK?"

"Yeah, I'm good. I just need to take a cough drop, and I think I'll be good."
"You better get well soon, soon as in today soon." she giggles. "OK, I will." I chuckle.

"Alright, Ali, I'll see you tomorrow at work."
"Yeah, I love you, take care.", "I love you too. Take care."

After we exchanged our goodbyes, I hung up. She's such an amazing friend and person. She's basically all I have left ever since my mom passed when I was 5.
I really do love and appreciate her.

As I'm taking my shoes off, I hear commotion downstairs, but I know Jason's back, and he's drunk. I stopped calling him dad after I turned 8 because after mom died, he didn't treat me like father should treat his daughter.

I hear him walking upstairs towards my room, and my heart starts beating faster. Though I should be used to this by now since it's been happening for the past 12 years, I'm just not.

He barges into my room with the door almost flying off its hinges, and I'm just standing there, not knowing what to do.

He charges towards me, and before I know it, my face shoots to the right with a punch to my tummy.

Before I can register anything, he's on top of me, and he's choking me.

"You pathetic bitch, why are you still alive. You should've died after your pathetic mother. You're such a burden."

Tears are running down my face as I'm trying to get his hands off me.
I'm fading in and out of consciousness until I manage to push him off of me.

I'm trying to catch my breath, and I get a kick to my ribs.

He leaves and bangs my door closed as I move back to lean against the wall while trying to catch my breath and with tears running down my cheeks.

I hold onto my mother's bracelet because sometimes it helps ease the pain by a little but it's still something.

I manage to stand up, and I head to the bathroom to take a shower. As I'm going into the bathroom, I see my razor on the counter, and I start walking towards it. It's probably not the best therapeutic method, but I do it anyway.

After 3 minutes, I decided to put the razor down and take a shower.

When I'm done with my shower, it's almost 10 pm, so I decided to go to bed which I didn't realize would be so difficult because my side is sore and I'm hungry but I don't wanna go downstairs just incase Jason's there so I decide to drink my water and try to fall asleep.

After 30 minutes of trying, I'm finally falling asleep, and I hear a bottle breaking downstairs, and I flinch, but I'm not even fazed by it because it's not a new thing.

After 15 more minutes of trying, I fall asleep, not even excited about tomorrow because I know it's just gonna be a repeat of today like it has been for the past 12 years.
