☆Chapter 13☆

Matteo's P.O.V

I walked away after saying goodnight to them and while I was walking I looked back and saw Jason dragging her into the house. I wanted to go there but I didn't wanna seem rude and get into their family matters.

But damn I wish I did.

I go to my car and I enter the driver's side and Anaya looks like she's been crying.
"Are you ok?" I ask her.
'Yeah I'm good" she answers with a small smile.

"Anaya, I need you to do me a favor," I tell her.
"Yeah, what is it?"
"I need you to tell me everything you know about Aaliyah's dad and anything off you've noticed about Aaliyah," I tell her and she nods.

"I don't know much about her dad but I know he's an alcoholic, I've seen him get rough with her a few times, like grabbing her arm. Aaliyah and I basically grew up together but since she was 6 or 7, she hasn't been the same. Her mom died when she was 4 or 5 and she was devastated. She was closer to her mom and they were inseparable, and when she passed, Aaliyah wasn't ok for about 3 months and then she learned to live with but then when she turned like 6 and she started changing, she became quieter and started wearing long sleeves more even when it was hot. And I think I should've realized sooner that Aaliyah's dad could be abusing her." Aaliyah tells me and she clarifies the truth I think we've all been dreading to hear.

I turn in my seat and face the road while sighing.

Gosh, we need to get her out of there.

"Matteo, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but we have to leave in 2 days and if you want to help her, you need to do it now," Angelo tells me.
"That's fine, I'll call my dad and tell him we're gonna be late."

" I think we should all go home now, it's probably going to be difficult to get sleep but if we want to help her, we need to be fully energized," I tell them and they nod.

I asked Anaya for directions to her house, I put them on the GPS and started driving there.
When we drop her off, Angelo walks her to the door, hugs her, and kisses her forehead before she goes in.

When she's in her house, Angelo starts walking back to the car and enters the passenger side.

"She thinks she's a terrible friend because she didn't notice what her best friend was going through."

"That's tough man," I say.
"You like this girl don't you?" Angelo asks
"I could ask you the same thing," I say chuckling.

"To think you like her and you haven't even seen her full face." He says
"I know right? I don't know, there's just something about her that makes me want to her even if I don't know what she looks like. And I'm not saying, you should only like someone because of how they look but, I don't know man." I say.
"Yeah" he answers

We start driving home so that we can also tell Enzo and Isa about what happened today.

Once we reach the house, we head into the living room where they are.
"Hey, if it isn't our 2 lover boys," Enzo says and Isa laughs.
"What happened?" Isa asks when she sees our down faces.
We start explaining everything that happened to them and they're also quite shocked.

"Wow, I would have never guessed that that would have been it," Isa says and Enzo agrees.

"So what are you gonna do now?" Enzo asks.
"I'm gonna go to the cafe when her shift begins and be with her the whole day and I don't know, I'm blank right now.
But if she isn't at the cafe then il have to go to her house just to make sure she's safe. "

"Yeah, I guess that's the best thing to do right now," Isa says.
"But what happens after you help?" Enzo asks, and that's a good question.
What would I do after I help her?

I can't just leave her and go back to Italy like I never met her.

"Maybe she'd be down to moving to Italy, even with Anaya but that's a stretch, I mean we barely know each other."

"Yeah, exactly. Let's just go to bed and we'll figure it out"
"Are you guys gonna come with me tomorrow?" I ask them.

"I know I'm coming, I don't know her but I like her and I wanna get to know her, she looks like an amazing person. I mean with all that she was going through, she had it so well and would still go to work and be happy and act like everything was fine and goodness knows when the last time she ate was, and a full meal especially." Isa says.

"I'll come with you", "Me too" Enzo and Lo say.

"Alright, we should all leave the house by 9 because that's when the cafe opens"

I stand up and I see them smirking at me.
"What?" I ask them.
"Nothing," they all say.
I huff and head upstairs into my room in the penthouse I own.

Gosh, I wonder how I'll be able to sleep when I know that terrible, terrible, things could be happening to Aaliyah right now.
