Fated Goodbye

➳ Prologue

"Melody, give me a status report."

"Phoenix is currently still in her comatose state. Her body yearns to search for more of her broken fragments and is reaching closer to another universe again," Melody said.

"Give me the details of the universe."

Melody started typing. "I'm pulling it up now."

A hologram of the universe displays itself in front of the two girls and leaves a blue hue on their faces due to the dim lighting in the room. Luna starts typing away and quickly picks out the important details and sends them over to Melody to sort the information.

"Hold on a moment Melody, I think I'm almost done," Luna says to her sister. She continues to type but starts slowing down. With a frustrated sigh, she stops when she can't find any more important information.

"I don't think you need to pull out any more information Luna, this is more than enough to send her," Melody said while organizing the information on a holographic screen in front of her.

Luna pulled up the screen with all the information Melody organized and leaned back in her chair while her hand hovered over a big white button. "Give me all the details Melody. We can't afford to make any mistakes."

Melody nodded at her sister and looked at the big screen with all the information, "This universe has an octopus creature that destroyed the moon and plans on destroying the Earth by the end of the school year. He is currently teaching at Kunugigaoka High School. His students have to kill him, and the students are part of class 3-E which is known as the class for the failures or misfits of the school-"

"Okay, that's enough. Since her conscious wants to go to this universe, another piece of herself has to be there. It has to be that teacher, she has to kill the teacher..." With a new profound motivation, Luna starts preparing her comatose sister to send her consciousness into a new universe. "Melody, could you improve her physical and intellectual stats? I have a feeling she'll be needing a slight bit of a power-up in this universe."

With a determined look, Melody nodded at her sister, Luna, "Got it."

The two sisters typed away and prepared everything they could for their sister to have a comfortable time in this unexplored universe they came across.

"Melody, did you prepare the necessities?"

"Yes, she'll have a place to stay not too far from the main location where she needs to be. The housing will also provide food, water, clothing, and any supplies that she will need"

"Did you input the location?"

"Phoenix won't have any memories of where she was before, but she'll know her purpose in killing her teacher, where the classroom is, and where the house is."

"Perfect. Write up a quick letter for her to find so she knows why she's there."

Luna started fidgeting around in her seat, while Melody typed up a quick letter with an explanation for their comatose sister, Phoenix. "Luna, you seem nervous."

Luna turned to her sister, who was still writing a letter, and with a breath she said, "Of course I am, I have no idea how long our tech will last and we don't know how many more universes Phoenix has to travel through before she can find all her pieces and come back to us."

Melody finished the letter and placed it in the house for Phoenix to find. She chuckled before responding to Luna, "And you're supposed to be the oldest. We just have to hope for the best."

"Which is why she needs to be quick in this universe, she spent too long in the last couple of ones," Luna said while preparing to push the button her hand had hovered over this entire time.

"We need to believe in her, Luna. We both know Phoenix is capable. I'm going to cook some lunch after we send her in. What do you want?" Melody said in hopes of lightening up her older sisters' mood.

Luna chuckled, "Let's just make lunch together, you ready Melody?"

She nodded and they both prepared to press a big white button on their side of the room. With one last look at each other, they nodded and pressed the button sending their comatose sister into a brand new universe. A loud jet sound could be heard before it zapped away. Their screen became flooded with new information about the universe as Phoenix set her first steps.

"Let's eat first and then we'll organize everything later."
