{09: heart monitor}The next morning, Aurora enters the bustling classroom, radiating a confident aura in her well-thought-out attire. She glides in, her maroon shirt complementing the button-up black jean skirt and tights underneath, topped off with stylish slightly heeled boots. The morning sun catches the colors of her outfit, emphasizing her presence in the room.
Stiles sitting in his usual spot, glancing out the window until he senses her arrival. His eyes lift, widen in surprise at the sight of Aurora's transformed appearance. Momentarily stunned, he forgets himself as Aurora proceeds to her usual seat nearby. Stiles is still in a daze, his eyes trailing Aurora's movements as she settles down. Lost in his thoughts, he doesn't notice her until she addresses him.
"Are you okay?" Aurora questioned concerned. Stiles blinks, caught off guard."What?" He's still lost in his astonishment, causing Aurora to arch an eyebrow and playfully wave her hand in front of his face, breaking his trance.
"I'm sorry, what did you ask?" Stiles clears his throat, his cheeks tinting red."I asked if you're okay... you're acting kind of weird this morning. Is it your dad? Did something else happen after I left?" Aurora asks curiously, worry seeping through her words.
"No, no, no. Uh - Dad's still pretty much the same," Stiles responds, attempting to regain composure."Then why are you acting all spaced out?" Aurora's concern persists.
"Well - Uh, you - it's just.... you, um, you look very nice today," Stiles stammers, his face now crimson.
"Oh," Aurora replies, catching on to his flustered state, deciding to tease him a bit.
"Does that mean I don't look nice every other day?"
Stiles panics at this, stumbling over his words, "What? I didn't say that - I - you -"Aurora laughs, lightening the mood. "Stiles, relax. I'm just messing with you."
Stiles exhales nervously, his cheeks still flushed, but a small smile forms. Before either can continue, Scott walks into the classroom. Stiles, however, remains distant, which Aurora takes note of causing her to sigh slightly knowing that Stiles hasn't talked to Scott since the accident last night. She hated seeing the two boys like this knowing how much they mean to each other but she also knew Stiles and when his mind was set on something there was no convincing him otherwise.Scott takes his usual seat behind Stiles, glancing at Aurora who was next to the boy giving her a small smile to which she returned before looking down at her desk awkwardly despite the fact that it was clear that she was eavesdropping.
"Still not talking to me?" Scott asked Stiles only to get no response causing him to pause but then continue to pester the boy.
"Okay, can you at least tell me if your dad's okay? It's just a bruise, right? Some soft tissue damage? Nothin' that big-- You know I feel really bad about it, right?" Scott paused waiting for a response only to receive silence once again resulting in him to sigh before adding on, "Okay. What if I told you that I'm trying to figure this whole thing out, and... that I went to Derek for help?"
