" oh man , who is here ? i was just watching previous year's hoenn league matches ." a annoyed and cocky voice was heard and ash chuckled by hearing the voice .
they were approached by a small boy who was wearing a green half- sleeved sweater over a white sweater and yellow shorts with green sneakers .
" hello , who are you two ?" max asked .
" i am aaron and this is my girlfriend serena and i am here for a gym battle ."ash told .
" hmm , ok then i am the gym leader . lets battle ." max said with a smirk .
" i know you are not the gym leader max , call your dad for gym battle ." ash told with a grin under his mask and serena giggled .
" uh- w- what how did you know ?" max asked in embarrassment .
" i have seen your dad in the poke guide . so i know who is the gym leader ." ash told .
" ok fine i am call-" max was cut off by a voice .
" max , who are you talking to ?" a voice came from a man who just came to the battlefield inside the gym .
" dad , there is a challenger and he wants to battle you ." max replied .
" oh hi , i am norman , gym leader of petalburg city and who might you be ?" norman asked .
" i am aaron from kanto and this is my girlfriend serena from kalos region ." ash told .
" you are from kanto ? " max asked with stars in his eyes .
" yeah , i am ." ash replied .
" oh , so do you know ash ketchum ? he is my idol and he is pretty strong ." max asked with stars in his eyes and serena giggled on seeing that .
" yes , i know him but i have never met him ." ash told and max sighed .
" ok , so aaron how many gym badges you have ?" norman asked .
" i have none ." ash told .
" hmm , ae you sure you want to battle here . i recommend trainers with 3 gym badges at least to battle with me ." norman told .
" no need sir , aaron here is pretty strong trainer and he came runner up in kalos league ." serena told .
" oh , its your wish . so let me tell you the rules ." norman said .
" no need , i know . 3 v 3 battle without substitutions and only challenger has right to change pokemons . right ?" ash told and norman nodded .
serena took pikachu in her arms with sylveon walking with her and she went to the stands along with max .
" your boyfriend dont stand a chance against a dad ." max told bluntly .
" we will see about that ." serena replied with a little anger in her voice .
pikachu really wanted to nuzzle max but it would ruin the surprise .
" you know that pikachu of yours reminds me of someone ." max told while looking at the pikachu in serena's arms .
serena and pikachu started sweating . " oh , really ? i dont think we have met before ." serena told .
" yeah , but it just looks like the pikachu of my idol ." max told but shrugged .
