After the race, Sora met with Kairi. She wanted him to go find some materials to build the raft.

"Okay, this is what we need. Two logs. 1 cloth. And 1 rope. Okay?" She asked him.

"No problem!" Sora assured her.

"Alrighty, I'm counting on you!" Sora walked off. He found 1 log on the beach. He then saw Selphie fiddling with some rope. Perfect. He walked over to her.

"Hey, Selphie, can I have that rope?" He asked.

"What for Sora? Wait... is this for that raft you guys are making?" She held it out. Sora took it, but Selphie wouldn't let go. "You know, Tidus is busy training, and Wakka's doing random stuff, so I'm a little bored."

"(Sigh) Let me guess, you want to spar?" He asked.

"Aww, you knew!"

"Come on them. But you're totally going down!"

"We'll see!"

Sora and Selphie stood opposite on the beach, ready to rock. Selphie made the first move, jumping at Sora, and swinging her jump rope like a nunchuck. Sora got hit, but he bounced back, swinging the wooden sword at her, hitting her. They swung their weapons at the same time, making them bounce back from the recoil.

But Selphie was a nimble one, quick on her feet, so she jumped back, using the range to attack Sora. "Over here!" She taunted. Sora ran over, they clashed again. When Sora would get close to her, she'd jump back quickly. It was a good strategy, if not a bit annoying. But when she swung at Sora again, he caught the other side of the jump rope, and pulled it towards him. "Hey!"

"Hi-yah!" Sora whacked Selphie over the head, and knocked her down.

"Ow..." She groaned.

"Oops. Sorry if I hit you too hard," He apologized.

"No biggie... Here you go. Good luck with the raft," She said, handing over the rope.

After getting all the supplies, the trio watched the sun set, Kairi and Sora sitting on the tree, and Riku leaning against it.

"So, Kairi's world is out there?" Sora said, pointing at the horizon, looking at Riku. He shrugged.

"Maybe. We'll never learn staying here."

"But how far could the raft take us?"

"Who knows? We might have to think of something else," Riku said.

"So, we get to another world. What would you even do there?" Kairi asked.

"Eh. Haven't really thought about it, I guess," He admitted. Sora started rocking back and forth.

"You, know, it's just, I wonder why we're on this island. If there's so many worlds out there, why did we end up on this tiny one. If other worlds  exist, then our world is just a little piece of something greater, we could've been somewhere else, right?"

"I don't know," Sora said, laying down.

"And that's why we need to go out and find out. Just sitting here won't change a thing. It's the same old boring routine. So let's go."

"You've been thinking a lot, huh?" Kairi commented.

"Well, it's thanks to you. If not for you, we wouldn't of known any of this. So thanks, Kairi."

"You're welcome." The group decided to go back home, Kairi leaving first. Before Sora left, Riku stopped him.

"Hey, Sora. Catch." He tossed a star-shaped yellow fruit at him, who caught it. Sora looked at it in surprise. "You wanted one, right?"
