Jennie and Taehyung wandered through the charming streets of Auckland, hand in hand, their laughter blending with the city's vibrant atmosphere.
"This place is incredible, Jane. I can see why you wanted to come back." Taehyung said after taking in the place.
The two had been here for a week already, and the longer he stayed the less he wanted to leave.
"Right? It's where I used to play as a kid, where I had my first crush." Jennie recounted with a smile.
At this, Taehyung rose an eyebrow, amused at the news. "First crush, huh? What's this all about now? Do I need to fight someone off?"
"Shut up, it's nothing. Just innocent childhood stuff. Anyway, let's head to the beach. The view is breathtaking." Jennie quickly shifted as she took a hold of his arm, pulling him with her to the nearby steps of the pier.
As they approached the sandy shore, Taehyung couldn't help but admire the ocean view. Well more so her, but the ocean was nice too.
"Seoul beaches aren't anything like this. It's so peaceful." He admitted, watching the shore line recede and return continuously.
"That's why I love it. You get a break from the chaos. And the fish and chips here are legendary. They may not rival the ones in the UK though. Wanna try?" Jennie proposed, turning to him with a grin wide enough to light up the current night sky.
Taehyung couldn't help but give in. He'd probably give in to anything she asked at that moment. Even buying her a flat in the Burj Khalifa didn't seem too far off.
"Absolutely. Lead the way, my Auckland tour guide." He chuckled, ruffling her hair in the process.
They settled on a bench overlooking the water, munching on their fish and chips they managed to buy at a nearby food truck.
"Do you miss this place a lot?" He asked, turning to face her as he wiped a smudge of ketchup from the corner of her lip.
"More than I thought I would. There's a simplicity here that I sometimes crave in Seoul." She admitted, letting her eyes wander over the place she had several memories of from her childhood.
"Do you want to live here again?" He asked, a little more apprehensively as she turned to him.
"Honestly, it would be nice..." she began, turning back to the water.
"But it's nice as a part of my past. I like where I live now. I have new people, new likes and new dislikes. I may miss my mom, but we meet each other pretty often and I'm midway to convincing her to move to Korea right now." She continued, as he nodded, a smile on his face.
"And I'm your new home." He boasted, nudging her slightly as she rolled her eyes.
"That's so cheesy. I'm embarrassed for you." She cringed as he only laughed, throwing his arm around her.
