Obstina - Regulus x OC

Chapter 1

Jaqueline O'Riley stood in the middle of the crowd of 11-year-olds within the tall walls of The Great Hall. Professor McGonagall had started calling out names.
"Lupin, Riley" was the next name which was heard. A blond girl stepped forward. No wait- She wasn't blond. It was the light that tricked her eyes. The girl's hair was a light brown color. As the girl, Riley Lupin, sat down on the stool in front of everyone, Professor McGonagall placed the Sorting Hat on top of her head. Just a few moments later the hat yelled out: "Hufflepuff!"
Everyone at the Hufflepuff table cheered, and so did a little group at the Gryffindor table.
Jacqueline then continued disappearing into her thoughts. She knew which house she would be in. She knew it and she was scared. She knew already, that if she was sorted into that house, her parents would proud of her, and she would be at the right place. She knew, she had to do this. She had to because, if she did not, she would be trapped forever. As soon as this was done, she could follow every one of her parents' rules, no matter how much she hated it. But she would have a way out. She would have a reason to leave. Something to remind her, that she was not like her parents.
She was ripped out of her thoughts by the sound of her name:
"O'Riley, Jacqueline"
She walked up to the stool, like every other child had done today.
The Sorting Hat was placed on her head and she did her very best to focus on her least Slytherin-like features. She didn't know if it would ever work but she had to hope.
"I see... Well then. If that's what you want. Maybe you are more like your eldest brother. But no- You're still different. Hmm..." The Sorting Hat said.
"Hufflepuff!"
The Hufflepuff table all cheered. But when she looked towards the Gryffindor table she saw someone else cheering even louder at her. Her brother. George. Her oldest brother. Her other brother wasn't cheering at her. Not at all. He was sitting at the Slytherin table. Jack.
Jacqueline walked down to the Hufflepuff table and sat down at the first free seat she noticed.
A few other names were called including:
"Snape, Dulcis"
"Hufflepuff!"
"Williams, Evangeline"
"Ravenclaw!"
