Chapter 2

"Remus?" a beautiful, melodic voice said.
Remus Lupin turned away from his friends and the conversation they had been in the middle of with a smile.
"Yes? Jacqueline?"
When he saw her expression his smile disappeared and a confused expression replaced it. She always smiled. She didn't look upset or anything she just looked calm, but not happy.
"What is it?"
Jaqueline looked around at the three other boys sitting at the Gryffindor table with Remus. "Uh- It's Riley. She isn't feeling well. She threw up this morning and she is having a fever. She wanted to talk to you."
"Of course!"
"Wait," asked James. It was Sirius who continued. "Who are you?"
"And who is-" Peter started.
"Riley?" James again.
"Riley is my sister. And this is Jaquesline." Remus said.
"You have a sister?!"
James: "How come we didn't know?"
"I have two sisters. And-"
Sirius: "You have TWO sisters?!"
Peter: "And we didn't know?!"
"And one of them is ill right now so..."
James: "But-"
Jaquesline: "We should... probably hurry a bit. I had to leave her alone in the dorm and I don't know when she will throw up again."
"Of course." Remus said before turning to leave with Jaqueline.
James: "Fine then. Hope we'll see you again Jack!"
Both Remus and Jaqueline froze. Remus turned around once again and said "Don't you ever call her that."
"Why?"
"Um, Remus. Riley is still alone."
"Right. Bye."

"We're back." Jaqueline said as she closed the door behind her and Remus. Remus kneeled down next to Riley's bed and placed a hand on her forehead. "Thank you." Riley said with her dizzy-like voice.
Remus looked at Jaqueline and said "I will talk to them. About what they called you. It won't happen again."
"What? What did they call you? What did they do? Who?"
"No, no, no. It's fine. They couldn't have known anyways."
"How are you feeling?" Jaqueline knew she was changing the topic and it was very obvious but she needed to talk about something else. At first Riley just glared at her. Then she said "Bad" dragging out the 'a' for a while.

"Remus!" Remus let out a deep sigh. He was really tired. He had stayed up all night, because his sister - despite having 40 degrees fever - was still, let's say... very talkative.
"Yes?" he groaned.
James: "Why? Why haven't you told us?! How haven't we figured it out ourselves?!"
Sirius: "Yes! How?! We're now in our... our... uh- just a moment." He started mumbling. "1, 2... 3, 4, 5... 6... 7..."
"7th!" he then finally exclaimed. "No wait- 1, 2..., .......... 3!" he corrected himself, somehow not being able to count their years at Hogwarts. "Our 3rd year at Hogwarts! How- Wow! We're in our 3rd year guys. 3rd! How?! Oh, right. Remus!"
"Yes, again, yes?"
"Why haven't you told us you have a sister?! Are we not friends anymore?" Sirius said the last part with a pout.
"Two," Peter corrected. "He said he has two sisters."
"When was I supposed to say it? Was I supposed to just say 'Hey guys. By the waayyyy. I know it's completely random, but I acually have two sisters! Did you know? No, of course not. I only just told you.' Is that it?" He looked at the three boys. Sirius and James looked at each other, then back at Remus and then said in sync "Yes" as if it was the most obvious thing ever.
"Look. If I told you, you would just start pestering my sisters. And since Riley is always with Jaqueline that would cause you to start pestering her. Intentionally or not. And-"
"Are you in love Mooney?"
"What?"
"Are you in love? With Jack." Sirius repeated.
"What- Wh- Wh- Wh-What? What-no! No! No, of course not! Listen. Biologically. I have two sisters. Two. Legally. I have two sisters. But in reality. I have three sisters. Rhiannon is my older sister. Riley is my little sister. And Jaqueline is the same age as Riley, so."
"So we still have a chance?" Sirius continued hope glowing in his eyes. James seemed to agree. As usual - even though right now he was probably just supporting his friend since James himself still wanted Lily. As he said "Yes, can we have her?"
"No! No way! Look. All I need from you is to just stop calling her that."
"Calling her what?" Peter chimed in.
"Jack. Don't call her that."
"Why not?"
"Because. You seriously don't get it, do you?" All three of them stayed silent not going to admit it out loud. "No, of course you don't. Fine. Jaqueline's full name is Jaqueline O'Riley." Remus paused to see, if that rang a bell. Still nothing. "O'Riley. As in... O'Riley... George O'Riley? As in... the guy right over there?" He pointed towards the 6th year student a bit further down the Gryffindor table. James squinted his eyes to have a better look at the older Gryffindor. "Oh, him! Him! George O'Riley. The one who is always with the Prewett twins."

"Yes, him. He is her older brother. But Jaqueline has two brothers. George. And Jack. Jack is in Slytherin. Like the rest of their family, pretty much."
"Oh, that's why." Peter said. Sirius had suddenly gotten quiet.
"Their relationship isn't exactly perfect." Remus knew, he saw that glint of recognition in Sirius' eyes, despite it disappearing as fast as it had come.
"My parents are working on a way to adopt Jaqueline, though. But it isn't really easy."
