Y/N POV

"So are you going to tell me where we are headed?" Leo tilted his head at me from his horse's back, not seemingly the slightest bit inclined to answer me. We'd been riding for a couple of hours now, it had been a nice surprise to see Thowra all tacked and ready for me after Leo led us outside. But I had not been given time to change and my dress and while I loved it, it was not designed for short rides in let alone for this long. Sighing I rolled my eyes looking away, watching the royal guards ahead of us. They were far enough away to give us privacy, clearly ignoring us the best they could as well from what I could tell. I couldn't blame them, I had tried to ignore Leo for a while but it hadn't worked too well. "Fine, don't tell me where. Can you at least tell me if we are almost there?" When he chuckled at me I thought he wasn't going to tell me, then he nodded ahead of us. "Not far now, we need to pass around those trees then over the hill" Over the hill? That headed into the mountain paths, I had been that way once before with Jacob on a trip to deliver some heavy working horses. It was years ago and the memory was fuzzy though, so I couldn't think where we could be headed still.

At least that meant we wouldn't be riding too much further, and I could get out of my dress into something more comfortable. "Egger to begin our wedding night my Love~?" Glaring at him I felt the tightening in my gut seeing the searing heat behind Leo's eyes and smile. If it wasn't for this dress and the growing discomfort bordering pain the longer I was in it, I would have made the ride longer to bide myself more time. Leo had insisted on a quick meal and with us leaving straight after our first dance, even with the long hours riding it was only just starting to get dark. That meant we would arrive having something light to eat if I was lucky, before I had to face our bath and then worse... my wedding night. Closing my eyes I just turned away having to stroke Thowra's flank as he threw his mane jolting clearly picking up on my distress. He had been angsty when we started out, but after a hard pace for an hour or so I thought the worst it had settled. Apparently not since he was still sharp picking up on my inner battles and reacting heavily to them.

The last thing I needed was him getting upset as well. One of the stable hands I had acclimatized him to was with us, I had spotted him riding at the back along with some extra bags on one of the mounts. Still leaving him if he was this highly strung even with him would be tricky. With a quick shake of my head I huffed looking in Leo's direction with the best bored look I could muster. "The only thing I'm egger for is getting out of this dress, and into some comfortable pyjamas. Kira was nice enough to make me some warm ones, she wouldn't tell me why but she said I might need them" While he didn't seem too happy at first Leo's smile quickly came back as he shook his head at me, I hated when he did that like he was indulging a child. "Oh my Queen you won't have any need of those. Once we arrive we will go to bathe before bed, then I have every intention of holding you with nothing between us now you are finally mine" Frowning at his all too happy look I tried again to knock that smile off his lips. "What about dinner? I though you hated it when I skipped meals" His laugh was deep and far darker than it should have been, his hands twisting in his reigns as he pushed his mount closer to Thowra. Thowra snorted but I pulled at him gently settling him as best I could despite being forced to move so close to another horse when he pulled to move away.

"If you had wanted to eat Y/N, you should have eaten when we had our meal earlier. Neither of us will be having another meal until our marriage is well and truly consummated" The slow heat building in my face was no doubt showing as Leo smirked down at me, before moving his mount away pushing it to move faster. Thowra did the same without me needing to push him, more than used to keeping up when riding in a group. "Come my blushing bride, I have waited long enough for this day. I will have you in my arms and in our bed before the sun sets" If it wasn't for the ears around us I would have told him exactly how little I cared for him waiting. For now though I had to behave with the guards around us, that didn't mean I didn't plan on fending him off later. There was no way he was getting his way easily, even if I was going to lose I was going to make it as hard as possible for him to get anything from me. With a deep breath I shook away the though, focusing on what really mattered for now. Getting out of this dress!
