( Y/N POV )

Sighing again I sent the stopped the king approaching yet another gelding, he had the worst idea of what was the best mount for himself; and every horse he picked himself was either too hostile or timid for him to even try and mount other than the three I initially introduced him to. He had chosen to keep the paint twins and mare but still wanted a war mount and hunt horse, I frowned seeing him huff looking over the other horses his eyes taking them all in; I understood the war mount but the twins would be perfect for hunting and the mare would as well on longer chases. "Your highne-Leo I know you said you want a hunting horse, but the horses you already settled on can hunt just fine; all you're doing is getting yourself frustrated and unsettling the herd. Why don't we just move on to the war mount you wanted?" My tone stayed low and steady but if anyone but him had been around they would have heard the frustration in my tone, I was usually very patient when selecting horses with buyers; but he was being so stubborn and unrealistic in his expectations on the poor animals I couldn't help it. His eyes turned my way as he seemed to take a few calming breaths before nodding stiffly, I could tell he was getting annoyed at the lack of response from the horses; but these were not like the ones he was accustomed to. All the horses under Jacob's ownership and my care were well looked after, not just fed groomed and exercised until they were handed off to a new owner; so they were more individual which was why we tried to suggest mounts rather than let people chose them by their look alone. Turning I began walking further into the herd of horses in the large space, glancing from side to side searching for the horse I had in mind but found no trace of him; so as always I did what I knew best and called out. "SHIVER!" There was a few moments of silence before the sound of hooves began to come closer, many of horses moved whinnying as the large gelding came trotting over; tossing his head as he finally began slowing his mane flying over to lay on the opposite side before he was in front of me putting his muzzle out for a stroke. With a light laugh I stroked over his velvety muzzle taking in the gelding with a warm smile, he was a horse we had only just taken on from another seller and he had a wild streak in him so he still needed work; but I had the feeling the king wouldn't shy away from that. He was a heavy built horse perfect for wearing war armour but he was rather handsome in a scruffy way too, his coat a light grey covered in deep grey dapple with a long dark grey mane and tail sitting in slight waves; his chocolate eyes were just visible through the thick mane but despite that he has no impairment to his sight.

Turning around I found the king already approaching his eyes taking in the gelding at my side with interest, so I decided to elaborate a little on the horse he was looking at; moving to his side giving his flank a firm pat and rub making the large animal whinny in enjoyment. "This guy is a little rough around the edges and needs a bit more training, but he is very sturdy so once you spend a bit of time with him I think he will bond to you quickly if you earn his trust; plus he is more than strong enough to wear armour if needed" When he was close enough to touch the horse the kings eyes went to mine first, I had made it clear from the beginning that all these horses needed to be approached differently; but it only seemed to sink in to his head after nearly being bitten and kicked. Coming around to him I took his hand trying to ignore how he smirked, moving it so he was not going to stroke the geldings flank; rather aiming for his muzzle so he could be scented. After that I stepped back allowing the two to interact watching closely, Shiver being the horse he was immediately challenged the king trying to push him away playfully; but the king- Leo my mind insisted now that we were alone- stood his ground making the horse pause. As if a switch went off in the geldings head he stood more to attention and instantly I could tell he would be a good match for Leo, it would take some time but they would do well and be able to be in tune as mount and rider; which was undeniably satisfying to know. "He will do nicely. Once he and the others are put away in their new stalls we will prepare to leave, should we need another mount to carry your belongings one of the guards mounts will do; you will have no need for anything that has no meaning since I will see to it you have anything you need or desire" Closing my eyes I took a few deep breathes through my nose, the arrogance in this man was enough for me to want to hurt him but I knew I couldn't; so instead forced myself to use a civil tone as I ground out my words pulling the halter I had with me to put on the waiting gelding. "I won't need another mount Thowra has saddle bags, and I don't WANT anything from you; if I want something I can get it myself and I know your mother will insist on having clothing made even if I tell her not to anyway" Tying the halter in place the gelding began to follow me with no issue, the horse more than used to me from having been under my care for quite a while; I didn't get more than a few steps before I felt a hand grip my upper arm halting me ad pulling me roughly to face a rather unhappy man the horse behind me jolting in protest. My mouth opened to protest but the look on the kings face stilled the words in my throat, I wasn't sure what I had said to trigger such anger but he seemed livid with me; and I silently cursed the sudden change in his mood. "Let me make myself very clear Y/N, you are to be queen and if you wish it or not and as such you will behave as one; that includes what you use and wear everyday from when we return" Thinking he was done with his small rant I looked away ready to move on, I was biting my tongue to not snap at him right now knowing it wouldn't end well; when we got back to the palace I might not hold my tongue in private but for now I had to be careful if I wanted to get home and collect my things. My chin wasn't even fully turned before it was captured in a vice like grip, forcing my eyes back up to meet his intense ones; a possessive shine had taken over them making them darker than they normally might be making them almost frightening. "You have a reprieve for now so I overlook this wayward behaviour for now, but when we return from collecting your belongings I will not be so lenient with you; remember that" As bad an idea as it was I kept eye contact with him until he let go of me, then I pulled away guiding the gelding along quicker than I normally would have wanting to get back; the sooner we got on the road the better in my mind.
