"He quit."
It had been a couple of days since the lighter incident part two, as you liked to call it. During those shifts you had oddly seen more and more of William, you didn't go out of your way to interact with him but you definitely saw him around the main floor and party areas more. You were also using the lighter, despite seeing it as some sort of trick, it was beautiful and expensive and you decided that it would go to waste if you didn't use it.
But as you saw more of William, you began to see less of Henry. Eventually you just stopped seeing him period. You assumed that he was busy sorting finances in the office due to the lack of business hitting the company's income. However, when you were set a shift on the day you were meant to be off, you went to question Henry about it in your very calm and collected respectful employee sort of way.You had gone to the office and knocked on the door. No response. You had purposely waited until William had left the office to do god knows what so you could decrease the risk of talking to him again. You assumed that Henry would be in the office.
You knocked again.
Nothing.
Maybe he was somewhere else in the building then."Who are you looking for?" A tap on your shoulder made you turn your head. In front of you stood a small sixteen year old girl, who looked naturally nervous. She was a new hire and you had silently placed bets on how long it would take for her to quit. You gave it three days.
"I'm looking for Henry." You responded dismissively, getting ready to knock on the door one last time.
"He quit." The girl responded bluntly.
You were caught off guard. Henry quit? No, that couldn't be right, he poured everything into this company. Then again, you had seen his agony over it all. You also remembered Carly's words that she expected him to break under the pressure, maybe it was true, maybe he couldn't handle the grief and failure of his passion.
"How do you know?" You replied, your voice was harsh, not on purpose but mainly because you assumed this girl was playing some dumb prank on you.
The girl stared at the floor, unable to meet your eyes. She started picking her nails uneasily before answering in a shaky voice.
"We were told this morning, everyone working right now knows." She kept looking down.
Hold up, everyone knows? Everyone apart from you apparently. Damn, it really showed your worth as an employee of Freddy's. Seriously, how couldn't they tell you?
You opened your mouth to reply, "Who told you?"
"Mr Afton." The girl's quiet, shaky voice responded.
You felt that familiar rage in your stomach growing. Of course he didn't tell you this. He wanted to keep you out of the loop, further isolate you from everyone. All because you were angry over his creepy gift. Wait... that's why you were set a shift on your day off, he probably wanted to make your life a little bit more shitty. He had to be the pettiest person you'd ever come across.
A sudden realisation then hit you like a fiat 500 into a lamppost. With Henry gone, it could only be assumed that William was now the sole owner of Freddy's. You'd lost the support of Henry. You felt a sense of dread crash over you. You were now having to deal with just William, without any unbiased voice of reason to aid you. You dug your nails into your side and clenched your teeth as you debated breaking everything in sight, including those hideous animatronics. The girl informing this information must of caught onto the fact that you were in a destructive mood as she quickly scurried away.
Out of the corner of your eye, you saw the familiar sight of William approaching. You took a couple of deep breaths in to hopefully stop yourself from clocking this motherfucker. He looked fairly calm and almost... smug? Surely he wasn't happy that his friend quit, then again he clearly was some type of psychopath and you imagined that he wouldn't be complaining if he got sole control of the company.
