It's nothing short of odd to have Momo Frowning and quiet with her arms tightly crossed together. She looks like a literal toddler all because of the scrunch on her nose and the pout on her lips, and she knows it's childish, but heck like she cares. There are tiny stomps on her feet as she walks side by side with Mina, and it infuriates her more how she's too busy with her phone to even bother asking what in the heck is she doing.
Her ears perk at the sound of a soft chuckle coming out of Mina's lips. Her eyes subconsciously slides to Mina's direction. She shouldn't have. It only caused her heart to become heavier and her face to darken. It makes everything else more annoying. The leaves that brush against her hair when the breeze meets them has brought up some weird urges in Momo's mind. It's so silly how she kinda wants to tear down every tree at sight so she'd stop having a leaf bumping onto her face.
One more ring of Mina's notification, and Momo comes to a halt. Abrupt and in an aggressive manner. She looks nothing short of dangerous, as if she's actually capable of breaking someone's limbs (and that's Mina to be precise), but she's utterly sure that girl doesn't even notice one bit of it. And that's really maddening.
And the fact that Mina has the guts to ask why she has suddenly stopped her tracks, and without batting an eye at that, makes Mom oroll her eyes. This is her last straw, and she's not lying anymore if she says she's done with all this. It can be helped, this has been happening since their lunch break.
Her eyes have gotten dead serious as she marches towards Mina, stealing her phone in a swift and quickly hiding it behind her back. Of course Mina can just easily grab it back, but Momo's expression isn't easy to shove anymore. She's not playing and she has made it clear through her piercing gaze. It's definitely suffocating and terrifying, Mina admits, so she doesn't even dare trying to cross through her this time.
When Momo speaks, it's cold and deep, and it makes Mina gulp. Sure her phone has taken quite a lot of her attention ever since they left school, but is it really necessary for Momo to be this scary? It's not like she doesn't spare her any at all. In fact, Momohas most of her attention than she can ever remember. "Hey...stop staring at me like that." Mina feels bare, and that's embarrassing. "And give me my phone back already."
Mina can't figure out how they got into this situation. Really.
Momo's fingers are curled onto Mina's collar, pulling her in with gentleness. She makes her look deeper into her eyes, and Mina swears it's too breathtaking. Her heartbeat has gotten far from normal and the things she's supposed to say has quickly dispersed in her mind. Momo is crazy for maintaining eye contact this sternly. She used to look away so easily before, and her eyes were never this mesmerizing. "Yah, what are you doing?"
For a few seconds, there's only silence between them. Momo isn't really sure if she should say it. A question like she has in mind holds a frightening answer, "Are you bored of me now?"
A big reaction comes out of Mina. Her eyebrows distort into a furrow and her voice has raised up, "What kind of question is that?"
Momo strikes a glare, "Yah! You've been way too busy with anything else but me! And you kept patting those middle schooler's heads whenever they appeared too! And you speak nicely to them and even bought them snacks! You don't even do that to me and we've been friends for more than a decade now!"
With that long speech, Mina loses her soul, "Gosh, you and your jealousy is making you immature. Goodness, get a hold of yourself. You even turned scary over a petty thing. Aigoo, what a life to live."
A look of disbelief is darted towards Mina as she walks ahead, "You no good jerk! Jealousy your face! Stop making up excuses and hold yourself accountable!"
"Close your mouth already. Everytime you speak, your mouth gets bigger. Do you intend on eating the whole Eiffel tower?" Mina has her hands in her pocket, and Momo's walking right beside her like a bug.
Having these kinds of petty arguments are so common to them that it's something that comes and go in their daily lives. Momo often makes a big fuss over nearly anything. She wasn't really like that when they were younger though. Well, she kinda was, but she's a whole lot louder and noiser now.
Mina, on the contrary, used to just ignore every ruckus Momomakes. She used to pretend Momodoesn't exist when she starts running her mouth a little too much. Avoiding her was the simplest thing there was to do, that was until Momo blew up over that. It hurt her so much that she had a two day mental breakdown. It was nothing short of painful to know, so ever since that incident, Mina stopped using such tactics.
Momo halts once again, but this time, with a whine and several stomps. She's such a baby, Mina swears. "Yah! Lee Mina! Why are you so mean to me!?" She cries out, and that makes Mina roll her eyes over such an act.
"Oh goodness, the audacity you have." There's a distance between them, one not too far nor too close. Mina stares and frowns for a while, but she always gives in. She can never really stand a whiney Keia. That's too much for her ear to bear. "You're the one who started a fight with me when I was peacefully minding my own business, now I'm suddenly the one who's mean. Really tho, what a life to live."
She walks up to her with the wind lightly hitting her back. The closer she gets, the clearer Momo's tears are to her. She has her head leaned back, crying like an immature child she is. Her nose is red and her mouth is agaped, wailing out the loudest she can ever do. Just what did Mina really do for her to cry like this in the middle of the street?
She swears she didn't avoid or ignore her. She spared her some time. Wasn't that enough? Why won't Momo speak more clearly with what she wants from her? She's so confusing and hard to read. It's so troublesome.
Her arms reaches for her, wrapping around her body ever so casually. Momo's sobs slowly die down as Mina's hand gently settles on the back of her head, pushing it gently onto her shoulder, patting it lightly. "If you stop crying, I'll buy you ice cream." But that only makes Momo cries even more. She's like a complex puzzle while Mina is the player who doesn't wanna associate herself with such a thing, but never really wants to leave anyway.
When Momo's arms slip onto Momo's waist, immediately locking it tightly. She can feel her breast pressing onto hers. It's quite big and soft. The thought of it makes her embarrassed. Mina swears she's not a pervert. This is such a shameful situation to be in. And there's this sudden feeling that erupts from the pit of her stomach. A feeling that's in a rush, one to make heat creep up from Mina's neck to her whole face.
"If I stop crying, y-you'll buy me ice cream, alright? That's a p-promise!" Momo's childishness causes Mina to breathe out a chuckle. And it makes her wonder if Momo has always been a bit adorable like this. Mina's curious if she's been keeping herself blind in all those 11 years they've been friends.
"Yeah that's a promise," Mina tightens their embrace, letting herself feel cozy in Momo's warmth. It feels good to be this close to Keia. They should do this more often now. She hopes Momo won't really mind. "Now stop crying okay?"
"Mina..."
"Yeah?"
"Is it wrong to ask you to be only nice to me?"
Mina doesn't really know too, but she thinks being the nicest only to Momodoesn't sound bad at all. "Maybe."
"I feel something odd when you treat others more special than me. Don't do that anymore, you got it?"
"Geez, you're being scary again. But okay, I'll do that." She pats Momo's head when Momosnuggles deeper onto her neck, and goodness, it feels great. It sounds wrong, but Mina can't deny the pleasure. "Just promise me you'll lessen picking fights with me. You always end up crying when you do that."
"Okay."
"You smell good by the way." Mina blurts out, making Momo giggle. It tickles when it hits Mina's skin, and her knees weaken over a simple thing.
"I always smell good. I can't believe you never notice." A retort from Momo comes in quickly. "This is why you should pay more attention to me, you know? You're always right beside me, but you hardly notice anything."
"As if you don't."
"Don't try me."
Over such statement, Mina swears there's something that has shifted in their relationship at that very moment. She's not kidding.
