Just Run

"Shit! Why the fuck is this happening?!"

"We need to go back quickly!"

"And go where?!"

"Whoever did that might still be here!"

"Then let's just follow Rendon into the woods!"

"What if the people who did this are hiding in there?!"

The sounds of people arguing could be heard just outside the woods.

"We could die here at any second! The humans could have betrayed us!", a man yelled at the others.

"Then why the fuck is their leader also dead?!", someone yelled back.

"And why would they betray us now! Why not the previous times when we traded with them!", another one chimed in.

"I never should have come here! I thought you guys said that this job would be easy! I don't even fucking know a single one of you!". At this point, almost each member of the group made their thoughts and feelings public, out of frustration and fear.

All of them are currently in a state of panic. They had never anticipated something like this ever happening in the first place. The group thought that it would be a simple trade like usual. Nothing has ever gone wrong whenever they made a bargain involving humans.

Until now that is.

Ever since the beheading of the representatives, they have kept low onto the  ground crouching, all too afraid to move.

"Just move it!", a woman finally screamed over the others. "Get into the woods! Unless you all want to join them?!", she says while pointing to the headless bodies on the ground.

Everyone in the group nodded at her words, all mutually agreeing not to get their heads blown off like their leader. As they all headed into the woods.

"But..", someone else in the group spoke up. " What about the humans?"

Just after hearing his words, everyone turned to face the carriage, a look of worry and confusion present on their faces.

The same woman who decided to take charge, telling the group to get inside the forest, now spoke up, "Just leave them. We can't do anything without those damn horses anyway!"

And just like that, they were all running into the woods again.

Or at least...

they tried to run into the woods...

As one by one, heads started falling onto the ground once more.

'That's three.'

Luci remains on top of the hill, kneeling on his right leg, still covered in the darkness.

'That woman was not an amateur, it's best to take her out right immediately.', Luci says to himself, thinking about the woman named Horra.

Luci did not want to take any kind of risk. Which is why he immediately got rid of Reno instantly, as he knows how powerful he was. Even though Luci was confident that he would still win, even in the worst case scenario, where he has to fight Reno along with everyone else, he never did want to kill his own kind with his own hands, and preferred it if they didn't suffer much.

'It's better this way.'

Luci killed Horra since he wanted to test his a small theory he came up with just a few moments ago, before he started cutting heads off with the swift, dark feathers attached to both his arms.
