Henry was sitting on the luxurious couch playing Call of Duty as his mother was bouncing between watching him and reading a mystery novel when they heard telltale signs of the yellow beetle, or as Regina affectionately called it the tin bucket on wheels, pulling up into the driveway. Emma felt the barrier as she passed through it before she grabbed the bronze knob and opened the door. She stopped in her tracks in the front living room and smiled widely as she looked at her son and his adoptive mother thinking of what could be.

"Hi guys, whatcha doing?" The sheriff announces herself.

Regina turns to the woman and replies frustratedly, "Number one Miss Swan I am not a guy, number two what does it look like we're doing?"

The blonde hadn't been on the receiving end of the mayor's heated sass in quite a while, "Something wrong, Madam Mayor?" She said, lobbing back with sass and sarcasm of her own.

A growl escaped plump red lips, she shot out of her cushy seat and stomped over, "I'm tired of being cooped up all day! I want to find the, dare I say, asshole who has the gall to blackmail me!"

Emma placed a hand on her small shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze, "I think I might have a suggestion so that we could focus more to make it easier for us to find them." She offered as she provided a comforting smile.

Knowing for not being patient Regina asked sarcastically, "Are you going to share with the class or am I going to have to play twenty questions with you?" Emma eyed her son out of the corner of her emerald eyes making sure he was too engrossed in his video game to hear then motioned to the vast kitchen with her straw colored covered head. Regina followed her lean yet muscular frame, "Alright, what is going on? You took longer than you should have, where else did you go?" The brunette questioned suspiciously, her impeccable eyebrow raised.

In a whispered tone Emma explained, "I stopped by the station to see if Mulan had any more information and as I was walking in I heard a guy's voice so I hung back."

"Miss Swan, you're trying my patience!" The brunette said through gnashed teeth.

"Miss Swan huh?"

"EMMA!"

"Sorry, sorry. No playing around, got it. Anyway, it was Jefferson, he was asking how you and Henry were doing. We're gonna have to keep an eye on him." The sheriff proffered her eyebrows furrowed as she relayed the tale.

Regina tilted her ebony coiffed hair, "That is odd, you as well as I know we have a 'troubled' past to put it mildly. He definitely could be the one behind all of this."

Emma nodded her head in agreement, "Definitely. OH! I'm thinking that we should send Henry to DunBroch. He could do his schoolwork online and hang out with Merida's brothers and of course Merida's mom will be there so we won't have to worry about him being unsupervised." She said as a proud smile graced her face. As a furrow developed between perfectly manicured dark brown eyebrows she continued, "The clans are always there protecting the lands and people so we have nothing to worry about."

Resigning to the plan the brunette reluctantly agreed, "Alright Miss Swan, when are we going to do this?"  She let out a deep sigh.

Emma glanced at her Apple Watch, "Well, it's a little late to be taking him there now. So maybe the first thing tomorrow?" She answered looking for approval subconsciously.

Regina nodded in agreement, "Alright, since we already had dinner, how about we talk to Henry about the plans then send him to bed."

Henry was definitely agreeable to the plan. "Hang out with the DunBroch crew.....I'm in!" He exclaimed excitedly then hugged both of his mothers in a ball python like embrace then sauntered up to his room with a grin from ear to ear. Stopping in the middle of the stairs he turned and quietly got their attention, "Moms?" The women looked at him with questioning looks. "Goodnight, I love you guys so much." He smiled genuinely and continued his trek.

Regina smirked, her eyes dancing lightly at her son's happiness. She hadn't seen him happy for some time and was looking forward to seeing it more often in the future. "He's awfully excited to be going to the DunBroch clan. Should I be worried?" She asked snarkily, addressing her coparent.

Emma chuckled in return, "Nah, I think he just needs a distraction and be around kids his age for a while."

About a half hour later the women had cleaned the living room up to Emma's standards, however Regina was still nitpicking over minute things when the blonde announced tiredly as she wearily leaned on the frame of the doorway leading out of the kitchen, "Regina, everything is good. We should go to bed."

The brunette got uncharacteristically unsure of herself and inquired timidly, "Your bed or separately?" Brown eyes pleading for the former standing at the sink across the spacious room, the apples of her cheeks becoming pink as she uncharacteristically blushed.

Emma gave her her signature crooked smirk and sauntered towards the mayor replying, "That's totally up to you, I definitely wouldn't mind but I don't want you to feel uncomfortable."

Regina worried her plump lower lip, "Honestly I feel safer with you, if that's okay."

The blonde approached the mayor and picked up the petite tan hand at the latter's side holding it like it was the most precious gem in the world, which it was to her and answered with sincerity in her eyes and voice, "Of course it is silly, come on, let's go to bed."

The next morning Regina once again felt a particular warmth on her breast, as soon as she had cracked her eyes open she looked down without moving her head afraid to wake her bedmate and found a familiar pale hand resting on it. A smile broke out across her visage and she scooted back into the blonde making herself comfortable once again as she drifted off into a comfortable slumber she felt Emma's nose slide to her neck.

The women were woken up by their shared son knocking on the solid wood door. "Moms? Are we gonna eat breakfast before we go to DunBroch?"

Regina was the first one to return to consciousness enough to provide an answer, "Yes of course Henry. We'll be down in a few minutes."

"Mmmmm, five more minutes then we'll fill the abyss of a stomach that our son has okay."

Smiling brightly at how comfortable not only she was but the gorgeous blonde beside her Regina answered, "Alright, five more minutes but we're making him a decent breakfast today not just scrambled eggs, toast and orange juice." Emma didn't say anything but simply nodded then cuddled into Regina's neck.

All the members of the household, at least at the moment, were in the living room preparing to *poof* to DunBroch. "So what are the rules again Henry?" The elegant mayor questioned.

With an exasperated sigh the boy repeated, "Follow their rules, don't go anywhere without someone, preferably an adult, no ridiculous stunts and call or text every night."

Regina nodded with a smile on her olive toned face, "That's right. Are you ready to go?"

The way he was nodding his head Emma was worried it would fall right off his neck. "Okay kid let's go." She and her co parent embraced their son and went up in a cloud of lilac colored smoke.
