After the women dropped Henry off with their rules laid out once more they embraced him individually with a promise to FaceTime every day at least once, they returned to Emma's home.

"What should we do now?" Regina inquired with curiosity splaying across her visage.

"Well," the blonde began, "It's actually up to you, do you want to stay here and go through the list of who could be blackmailing you or wait for Mulan and David to find something?"

The mayor thought, "I think I should call the office to see how things are running and if I need to go in for anything."

The sheriff gazed disapprovingly at Regina, "Do you think it's a good idea to go in if they need you to?"

"I'll have my own personal bodyguard if they need me." A slightly flirtatious smirk growing on her face.

Later in the day Regina called the mayor's office and spoke with Sophie, "Hi Sophie, how are things there? Is there anything I need to be apprised of?"

The young woman answered, "No." was all she said in a snappy voice.

Regina raised a manicured eyebrow despite the fact that her secretary couldn't see, "Why are you being so disrespectful?!" Her voice took on a sharp edge as she raised it, reprimanding the other woman.

A deep sigh echoed from the other end of the phone, "Well, it's been kind of taxing around here without you but I'll make due. I've got to go, goodbye Regina."

The mayor stared at her phone in disbelief. 'What the hell is going on with her? Sophie has never been so rude to me like that!'

Emma poked her head into the sheriff's bedroom noticing a frown on the other woman's face and deeply furrowed brows. "What's wrong? Did something happen at the office? Do you need to go in?" She rattled off question after question.

" I  just want to pop in really quick then I'll leave, I'm beginning to wonder where Sophie's loyalties lie." The brunette growled with seething anger, her eyes almost glowing dark violet.

An hour later after the two women had showered separately they made their way to Emma's "rust bucket", as Regina lovingly called it, and made the short drive to the government building.

"So it'll only take a few minutes." Regina announced before she opened the door of the VW bug.

"Wait a minute young lady, I'm going with you." The blonde growled.

She was met with a long exasperated sigh, "Fine, if you must."

Rounding the front of the vehicle Emma grasped the other woman's arm lightly. "Regina, I just want to make sure you're okay and stay safe. Don't go all Evil Queen on me."

The mayor shot her an unbelievably sharp look and Emma just raised her hands up as if to say, 'Just saying'.

Regina uncharacteristically rolled her dark brown eyes and then walked off quickly in a huff as Emma followed dutifully.

They got into the elevator that would take them to the top floor where Regina occupied the entire floor. As they felt it carry them the both of them were dead quiet, Regina still a little perturbed about Emma accompanying her stood stiffly, her mayoral mask slipping into place.

As they wandered out of the elevator they noticed that Sophie wasn't at her desk to greet incoming patrons. "That's odd." The brunette commented to the sheriff furrowing her brows.

Regina searched the entire floor and bathroom and found no trace of her assistant. She assumed that she was taking an early lunch even though it was only 10:30. The mayor unbecomingly trudged to her large office and checked for paperwork for her to sign to take home. Spotting the significant towering stack she asked Emma to help her drag them back to what the brunette had started considering their home.

The secretary, or executive assistant as she preferred to be called, sat on one end of an extremely worn bench with the old paint chipping, secluded behind a defunct cannery. Ironically the same one where Regina was tortured. Checking her slender Apple Watch she saw that it was 10:30. He was late....again.

"Hello gorgeous." She heard from behind her, the man's voice gruff, probably from alcohol then he sat down, trying to get close to her until she shoved him back.

"I don't want to be seen with you anymore than I have to." She announced, disgusted by the man despite him trying to charm her.

"Alright, let's get this over then. What's been going on with our favorite Evil Queen."
