Awakened

"Oi, Deku! On your left!" Bakugou shouted, but it was too late.
Deku hadn't gotten the warning in time and was hit on the head hard by a villain who had snuck up on him from behind. The last thing he saw as he fell to the ground was Bakugou letting off explosions in different directions and then running over to him. Everything after that was completely dark.

Deku woke up slowly and rubbed his eyes. He felt utterly exhausted despite not fully remembering what happened or where he was. The last thing he remembered was half-way waking up in the ambulance on his way to the hospital. Everything else was a blur.
He slowly sat up and sighed, giving himself the chance to fully come back to consciousness. When he did, he looked around his hospital room. That's when he noticed that it was really quiet, too quiet. This weirded him out as hospitals weren't normally quiet as there were always nurses and doctors running around helping patients. No matter what, you would always hear something; whether that was people talking, footsteps pattering on the floor, or machinery beeping. But there was none of that.
Confused, he swung his legs off the bed and slowly stood up. His legs felt weak and his head was swimming. Regardless, he made his way over to the door and opened it. He peeked his head out into the hallway only to see that it was in complete disarray. Stretchers were laying in random places and there were papers and medical supplies littering the floor. All the lights were flickering and some of them were on the floor or just barely holding on to the ceiling by a wire or two.
What the hell is going on?  He thought to himself as he began walking down the hallway.
As he walked, he looked inside every hospital room that had an open door only to see that they were completely empty. When he neared the end of the hallway he noticed one of the supply rooms was barricaded shut. He took a few steps closer only to hear growling and snarling coming from the other side.
Thinking it was some sort of stray animal, he crept closer and put his ear to the door. The moment he did something began banging on it from the other side. That's when he realized that it wasn't a stray animal. In fact, he had no idea what it was.
Panicked, He began walking the other way in an attempt to find the stairs; that of which were hard to find in his panicked state. When he eventually did find the stairs he sprinted down to the main lobby. When he got there he saw what looked to be people pounding on the front doors trying to get in.
He squinted his eyes to try and see better as the glass was extremely dirty so it was hard to see through. However, he didn't stand there for very long because he knew that something was wrong with these people. They weren't acting like humans. The noises they made weren't normal. To him, they didn't even seem like the noises any animal would make.
Scared and confused, he made his way to one of the side doors of the building and opened it. When he was outside he saw what looked to be hundreds of dead bodies wrapped up and laying on the ground. He had never seen so many dead bodies in one place before and he didn't understand why there were as many as there were there.
He continued walking, desperate to find somebody who could tell him what was going on. He felt like he was in some kind of nightmare. A nightmare that he felt had no explanation to it. He walked for a few minutes before entering on to the main road by the hospital. He knew that Bakugou's house was the closest to the hospital so he decided he would stop there first.
He quickly made his way down the sidewalk, making sure to keep himself somewhat hidden as he felt that would be safest considering he had no idea what was going on with the people who lived there.
When he finally neared Bakugou's house, he snuck up to it on the side; peeking into every window along the way. When he came upon the back door he gently jiggled the handle before slowly opening the door. He walked in quietly and looked around. He was standing in the kitchen that looked like a tornado had run through it and he immediately knew that something was wrong.
Auntie would never let her house get this messy. What's going on? And why was the back door unlocked? Izuku thought to himself as he continued to creep through the kitchen.
When he neared the doorway separating the kitchen and living room, he put his back against the wall and peeked his head around. He saw somebody hunched over something in the middle of the floor. He couldn't see clearly because all the lights were off. He heard snarling and munching coming from the person hunched over and he knew right away he needed to leave. He didn't know what it was or what it was exactly doing but he had a feeling he shouldn't be seen.
He began to step back but his foot hit a weak spot in the wood which caused it to make a loud creaking sound. He froze in place when he heard it as it made whatever was in the living room stop and look up. When it did Izuku was able to tell that the thing he was looking at looked a lot like Mitsuki.
That's when the thing turned around and his suspicions were confirmed, only something didn't look right. Her eyes looked dead and bloodshot. Her skin was pale and looked to be flaking off. She had pieces of flesh missing from her mouth and forehead and she had blood smeared all over her face with pieces of flesh stuck in her teeth.
"A-Auntie?" Izuku asked in a shaky voice; looking down only to see that the thing Mitsuki was hunched over was Masaru.
He had chunks of flesh torn away from his stomach, throat, and face with pieces of his intestines laying on the floor next to him. Izuku looked back up at Mitsuki who had inched closer to him.
"What's going on? What happened to you?" He asked as he took a step backwards.
Mitsuki then snarled loudly and lunged forward. Izuku shouted loudly and ran around her before she could reach him. He ran into the nearest room and locked the door. Mitsuki began pounding on it not too long after and Izuku realized that he had backed himself into a corner with no way out other than the way he came in.
Mitsuki was snarling loudly and pounding on the door hard and Izuku knew that it wasn't gonna hold forever and that he needed to think of something fast. However, he couldn't think of anything as he was too busy trying to process everything that was happening. He was in full on freeze mode with no plan. He had originally thought about using his quirk to fight her off so he could get to a safer place but he soon realized that he was still too weak to fight. If he tried he knew he would lose.
Come on Izuku, think, think. He thought as Mitsuki continued to pound on the door aggressively. I can't think of anything. I have no way to get out of here. I'm screwed.

That's when Izuku heard a loud gunshot and Mitsuki went completely silent and the pounding on the door stopped. Izuku put his hand on his mouth to silence his breathing a little bit so he could listen. There was nothing but silence on the other side.
Not too long after, he heard a set of footsteps approach the door. "Hey, you in the closet. Are you alive or dead?" Came a voice on the other side.
"I-I'm alive. What kind of question even is that?" Izuku responded after taking a second to breathe and think.
"Did you hit your head on a rock and forget what was going on or something? We always ask those questions around here."
"What are you talking about? I have no idea what's going on." Hold on, that person's voice sounds familiar.

"Will you please just open the door. I promise it's safe; the dead won't attack you out here right now."
   "What do you mean Kendo?"
There was silence on the other side before he heard the sound of a gun being cocked.
"Who the hell are you and how do you know my name?" She asked in a more stern tone than before.
Izuku didn't respond. Instead, he just slowly unlocked the door and opened it. He looked Kendo in the eyes and sighed as she slowly began to recognize him and lower her gun.
"You're alive?" She asked in a shaky voice.
"What made you think I wasn't?" Izuku asked, still failing to realize the situation.
   "We all thought you died."
"What do you mean? What's going on? And-" His voice trailed off as he looked down and saw Mitsuki on the ground.
"You killed her?" He asked in disbelief.
"Of course I did. She's a wanderer." Kendo replied, giving Izuku a confused look. "Where have you been?"
"I-I was in the hospital. I woke up there not too long ago. I haven't seen a normal person until you showed up and I have no idea what's going on." Izuku explained in a choked whisper.
Kendo sighed and took a step towards him. "You should probably sit down. I have a lot to explain to you."
