{Player has slept, HP and MP fully restored}
I opened my eyes to a pounding headache and multiple notifications from the system, all of which I ignored for the moment while I checked the time.
11:36 AM. The next day.
"Stars, this headache is killing me..." I muttered to no one as I rubbed my head. I guess that's what happens when you use too many skill books at once. Eventually I opened my eyes and was met with a surprising notification.
{Multiple skills can be merged. Would you like to merge them all under the new skill: Engineering?}
... Well, I suppose it'll cause less clutter to take up my {Skill} tab, so sure. {Merge}.
{Merging skills...}
{Skills successfully merged!}
{Skill created: Engineering!}
- Engineering: 1/100
An umbrella skill for everything to do with the creation/manufacturing of machines, from microscopic nano-bots to Dyson Spheres and beyond. If it requires a machine, this skill well help you make and maintain it! The higher the level, the greater the machinery you can make.... Why does this description feel so different compared to the other skills? Maybe it's because of its status as an umbrella skill? Whatever the reason, I've finally got a skill for machines and now I can start repairing all those broken engines I've got in my {Inventory}... Just as soon as I get some tools. Wait, I missed a notification.
{Obtained Skill: Metalworking!}
- Metalworking: 1/100
A skill that allows the user to work metal into different tools, objects, and whatever else the user desires! Higher levels allow for better creations.Okay, I feel like the system is specifying higher levels being required for better stuff due to my use of {Mana Manipulation (Novice)} thus far. Not like I'm all that mad about it, I was expecting some type of nerf eventually; I am a beta tester after all.
Anyway, now that I've got all of these new skills I think I should head out and buy some tools to start leveling them. If memory serves, there should be a hardware store not too far from me... Well, okay it's technically around 8 miles from here, but with {Mana Enhancement} that's just an eight minute run.
I packed up my tent and tossed it into my inventory, mostly because I don't need it out anymore, and started running on the rooftops all the way to the hardware store. Midway through my run I saw Hawks and instinctively activated {Stealth} in the hopes he wouldn't notice me. Thankfully, he spotted a burning building and went for that, letting me reach my destination without any hassle.
{Mana Enhancement leveled up! +1 END! x2}
{Stealth leveled up! +1 AGI}
I waited a minute to give my body a chance to cool down before hopping down from the roof and heading into the store, immediately looking around for metalworking tools. I considered looking for wrenches, but I saw an Omni-wrench in the {Store} for $10,000 and decided I was going to buy that once I got back... home? I guess my warehouse is technically my home since I live there.
Suddenly the news was being shown in one of the TV's near where I was shopping. I ignored it for a while, until it started talking about the two guys I had killed, along with the bodyguard for that one dude I had basically stolen the deed from. Apparently the police believe the cases to be connected since the ways the men died were similar. They also brought in the dude for questioning and, while he told them about a "person with a kitsune mask and a dirty-red hoodie," he refused to tell them anything else about it... I think I'll pay him a visit to make sure he doesn't reveal he gave me the deed to that place. Good thing they said the location he was being held in during the news cast.
