Third Person's POV
The grandmother adjusted herself in her seat with a warm smile on her face. She looked at all the children's faces one at a time, gazing at them with warmth clouded in her eyes. The children then grew restless as the time passed by. Seeing the impatience on the children's faces, she began the story of Christmas. The story of the world's saviour, Emmanuel.
"In the Old Testament, there was a prophet named Isaiah. He was a really cool guy who told the world things that would happen in the future. Being the cool guy he is, he prophesied the birth of the world's saviour, Emmanuel or as we know him, Jesus...", the grandmother narrated but was interrupted by Carlos-one of the seven year olds.
"Why did the world need a saviour, nana? How is Emmanuel Jesus? How cool of a guy is Prophet Isaiah?" Carlos asked with a cute confused face which the grandmother could not have helped but to smile at.
"The world needed a saviour because of the sins of humans. After Adam and Eve ate the fruit from the forbidden tree, sin penetrated into the world. The sins of man were so great but God in his love decided to send His Son to save us. So, because of our sins we needed a saviour even if we didn't know", the grandmother answered the first question softly and patted Carlos' head.
"Emmanuel means God with us. Jesus is God's Son and He is also referred to as God in human flesh. Since He came as a human, He is with us. Therefore the name Emmanuel", she continued as she grabbed a picture Bible from the small table beside her.
"Okay. That makes sense now", Hannah-another seven years old child-commented with a slight nod of her head.
"And to answer your last question Carlos, Isaiah is a really cool guy. Like a hundred and fifty two percent cool. He was like a real life, Vision from the Avengers. God revealed to him things that would happen in the future", the grandmother answered with a slight smile on her face.
She opened the picture Bible to a relatively somewhat actual picture of the Prophet Isaiah, then gave it to Josiah to take a look at it and pass to the rest of the children. The children were in awe of the Prophet.
"He's really cool. Much more cooler than Vision, that's sure", Carlos blurted out with his chin on his knees as he stared at the picture.
"No, Vision is definitely cooler", Rowan-one of the five years old-argued before turning to face the grandmother.
"Who is cooler?" he asked, hoping the elderly woman would take his side.
"I think Prophet Isaiah is cooler since things were shown to him by God", the grandmother answered and patted his cheek when he sighed in disappointment.
'Maybe Prophet Isaiah is cooler to them but Vision is definitely cooler to me', Rowan thought with a frown. He looked at the picture of the Prophet again then sighed before passing the picture Bible to the next child.
"Nana please continue the story", Josiah urged with his eyes eagerly on the elderly woman's face, since he wanted to see all her expressions clearly and get the full story.
"Okay my dear. About 700 years after Isaiah prophesied about the coming of Jesus--the Messiah, an angel of God, Angel Gabriel told Mary who was a virgin that she will be pregnant with a son who will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High...", the elderly woman was once again interrupted by another child named Freya who aked who a virgin was.
"A virgin, my child, is someone who has never been with another person to engage in intimate acts. A virgin can either be a male or a female but it mostly used for females", the grandmother answered in the most basic way possible and the young girl nodded as she grasped the meaning of the word.
"How then can Mary be pregnant if she is a virgin?" Rowan asked, confusion written all over his face. The elderly woman sighed, expecting such a question.
'Story telling seems harder than I thought', the elderly woman thought and sighed again before adjusting herself on the chair.
"That's the unsual thing. The Holy Spirit came upon Mary so she bore a son by the Holy Spirit. That's why Jesus is termed Holy", she explained and the children nodded. "For me to continue with this story, I need all of you to get your Bibles from your rooms so you can also read the story from the source", she added with a tired smile.
The children agreed and ran to their rooms to get their Bibles so that their Nana would continue with the story.
