Third Person's POV

The children returned with their Bibles in their hands, then settled down once again in their previous positions. The grandmother told them to open their Bibles to Isaiah chapter 9 to read the prophecy by the Prophet Isaiah from verse 1 but when they got to verse 6, she told them to stop as she read it.

6 A child has been born for us. We have been given a son who will be our ruler. His name will be Wonderful Advisor and Mighty God, Eternal Father and Prince of Peace.

7 His power will never end; peace will last forever. He will rule David's kingdom and make it grow strong. He will always rule with honesty and justice. The Lord All-Powerful will make certain that all of this is done”, she read, pausing where necessary for emphasis.

“That is the Contemporary English Version of Isaiah chapter 9 verse 6 and 7”, she added as reference.

“Oh I get it now!”, Arabella exclaimed. “The child that was prophesied to be born is Jesus Christ who is also Emmanuel”, she explained to the younger ones which caused a smile to illuminate the elderly woman's face.

She was glad someone finally understood. She patted Arabella's head in a fond manner before she told them to open their Bibles again to the book of Matthew chapter 1 and start their reading from verse 18

“18-19 The birth of Jesus took place like this. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. Before they enjoyed their wedding night, Joseph discovered she was pregnant. (It was by the Holy Spirit, but he didn’t know that.) Joseph, chagrined but noble, determined to take care of things quietly so Mary would not be disgraced”, they began reading.

20-23 While he was trying to figure a way out, he had a dream. God’s angel spoke in the dream: “Joseph, son of David, don’t hesitate to get married. Mary’s pregnancy is Spirit-conceived. God’s Holy Spirit has made her pregnant. She will bring a son to birth, and when she does, you, Joseph, will name him Jesus—‘God saves’—because he will save his people from their sins.” This would bring the prophet’s embryonic revelation to full term: Watch for this—a virgin will get pregnant and bear a son; They will name him Immanuel (Hebrew for “God is with us”).”

“24-25 Then Joseph woke up. He did exactly what God’s angel commanded in the dream: He married Mary. But he did not consummate the marriage until she had the baby. He named the baby Jesus”, they finished.

“Reading the Bible makes it easier to understand!”, Carlos exclaimed and as an afterthought added cheekily, “no offense to your storytelling skills, nana”.

The grandmother laughed at his cheekiness while Josiah flicked his forehead, which caused Carlos to scowl in his direction.

“Now, now kids. No fighting”, the elderly woman commanded sternly and they both slouch in their seats.

“How about you bring the story to an end Nana? I don't know about the others but I'll feeling sleepy now”, suggested Arabella as she stifled a yawn.

“Alright then. I'm also getting sleepy myself”, the elderly woman replied while also stifling a yawn.
