I slid off the roof onto the ground quietly as I prepared to sneak into the house Inosuke resided in. I made sure there weren't a lot of people around and adjusted my mask as I focused to feel Inosuke's vibrations. I wanted to pinpoint his exact location so I could easily sneak into that room instead of wandering the halls at risk of getting caught.
Soon enough I felt the familiar brash vibrations of Inosuke as I slipped around the side of the house. I hopped up, opening the window as I easily jumped into the room.
"Kazumi!" He shouted loudly, and I jumped, startled.
"Shh!" I quickly ran up to him and covered his mouth, almost too aware of his plush lips against my palm.
"You've got to be quiet or else somebody will hear you!" I whisper yelled at the boy and he started to thrash in my hold. I let out a squeal as I felt his tongue slide out and lick my hand.
"I-Inosuke!" I exclaimed, quickly reeling my hand back as he let out a loud laugh.
"That'll teach you to not shut me up!" He let out another triumphant laugh and I sighed, wiping my slick hand onto my haori.
"Please just try and keep it down..." I muttered as I sat down next to him, waiting for Tanjiro.
"Whatever. I guess I could keep my kingly voice down for a moment or two." He reluctantly gave in as I heard him cross his arms, sitting criss cross on the floor.
Quite some time had passed, dusk quickly turning to nightfall as I listened to the birds slowly stop singing as they went to sleep.
"Ah! He's late! It's almost nightfall and he's still not here yet!" Inosuke let out a frustrated growl as he lifted his muscular arms up. "Way to mess things up Souichiro!"
I glanced in his direction and sighed.
"I'm sure he's on his way... maybe he got caught up with something." I suggested, slowly starting to get a little worried at Tanjiro's absence.
"I'll just take action by myself! With the spirit of "comin' through" flowing within my heart!" He yelled, and I jumped, startled at his conclusion.
"W-Wait! I don't know if that's the best-" My nervous words were cut off as Inosuke suddenly jumped up, and launched his head through the ceiling.
"Ah! Inosuke!" I exclaimed as I stood up quickly, confused and concerned for the boy now hanging from the ceiling with his head broken through the wooden boards.
"Are you okay?" I approached him as I reached out, gently touching his thigh through his kimono as I checked on him.
"Of course I am! You think some pathetic floorboards can stop me?!" He replied loudly and I let out a small sigh of relief.
"Come on out mice! And bring my swords!" He demanded, and I could sense small little footsteps from the ceiling as my grip on Inosuke's leg tightened a little, disturbed by the scampering vibrations.
