"How's Luna these days? Is he warming up to you?", Rachel asked one afternoon, as they all sat down in the cafeteria. With the said luna, seated with Frenny in the far corner - Julian dressed in a white sleeve fit midi dress like an angel.

"We started to have real conversations", Edward said as he slurped the last of his smoothie.

Rachel cooed at that but Hershey questionably asked,"That's all? What happened to those uncontrollable sexual urgencies?"

"Shut up! George! I couldn't even dare to touch him..."

"He has been using his hands, George~", Richard whistled from his side nudging the Alpha's strings of patience.

"Its better, anyway! I never thought our future Pack Alpha will become so decent and what to say else, healthy?", Rachel quipped as it earned a well good laugh round the table.

"Ok! Thats it... I have a very important meeting with the Mr. Shillin"

"Oww... Don't run away Alpha!!", Hershey cackled watching the Alpha walking away with annoyingness written all over him.

Fuck everyone!

Edward walked outside the cafeteria, casting a lingering glance at the Omega in the corner. Oh God! Was he always this breathtaking? Edward mumbled to himself, struggling to shake the image of Julian from his mind.

Every day felt like this now. It was uncontrollable, especially after spending his heat with Julian and bringing him home from the hospital. He could feel his control slipping. Edward had to admit he couldn’t keep his eyes and body in check after that intimate conversation with Julian.

He took a deep breath and leaned against the railing by the library, appreciating the peace and quiet—at least away from his noisy friends. But that calm didn’t last long as he felt a sudden movement approaching from behind.

The Trueblood was quick to act, grabbing the stranger and slamming her against the rail.

"Oh fuck! Aless?" Edward exclaimed, pulling the Omega upright as she flinched from the sudden force.

"Why are you wearing your scent blockers? I thought it was someone—"

"It’s okay. I wanted to surprise you. You wouldn’t have let me get this close if you sensed my pheromones," Aless replied, stretching herself.

Edward nodded and resumed his position, now standing alongside her against the railing.

"What do you want to say? For God’s sake—"

"I met my mate!" Aless whispered, looking directly at Edward, whose expression shifted from irritation to surprise.

"Uh-huh! That’s wonderful news!" Edward said, though he sensed that Aless wasn’t as happy as she should be. "Aren’t you happy?"

"Should I be, Edward? He rejected me. Apparently, he doesn’t believe in mates—and he already has a girlfriend, whom he says he loves and wants to build a future with," Aless said. Edward struggled to find the right words.

"Funny, isn’t it? I felt my heart rip with pain when he said that. I could hardly breathe, and it felt like all the will to live was slipping away. But the first person I thought of was Julian. I wanted to kill that girl; he would have felt the same, right?"

"He wouldn’t. He might have been hurt and cried himself to sleep, but he would never think of harming you," Edward said, his thoughts drifting to Julian.

"Well, that’s what makes him the Luna of the pack. When things get better, I want to see him. I want to ask for his forgiveness—not just for the time I spent with you, but for how I pressured you to be with me, knowing everything he’s been through," Aless said, gazing over the railing.

"He will surely come back to you, Aless! From my experience, destiny binds our fates. You can’t run from it. When I realized Julian was my mate, despite my feelings, the only scent, the only voice, the only body that made my blood rush was his. I believe the same will happen for your mate."

"Thank you, Ed! And for the last part, I want to say... I didn’t see you as just a hookup; I saw a friend in you." Aless took a deep breath before continuing, "But it’s all so messed up. If Julian wants, we could try to mend our bonds."

Tears in her eyes, Aless smiled as Edward wrapped her in a tight hug.

"I hope for the best," Edward whispered, gently patting her back.

"Isn't that your sweet little candy lolli—"

"Shut it, Frenny!" Julian frowned at the absurd term she used for his Alpha.

"Okay, fine. But where is your Alpha rushing off to?" Frenny asked, watching as the Alpha hurried out of the cafeteria.

"I don't know, my best friend. Can we just eat these fries in peace?" Julian pouted at the Beta.

"Jul, I have some submissions to make before badminton practice, so I'm leaving!" Frenny replied, and the Omega nodded in acceptance, glancing over at the redhead waving through the crowd.

Julian deliberately steered the conversation cause he didn’t want to say anything about the Alpha.

He had to leave too, but first, he needed to call Edward.

He turned to look for the Grey gang but didn’t see Edward among them. Just as he was about to call the Alpha, he remembered the book he needed to return to the library.

As he walked to the library, his mind kept drifting to Edward and how their relationship had changed over the months. It felt like they were on parallel paths—stable but distant. The change and space between them had evolved their bond, but Julian wanted more. Had he ever mentioned that his love language was physical intimacy?

The Alpha would never know!

How could he, when he was so careful around him? It was as if Edward might burn him to ashes with even the lightest touch. The last cozy moment they shared was after Edward’s fight in the ring, and since then, it felt like the Alpha had been deliberately keeping unnecessary distance. Everything felt coded, and any misstep would have Julian reeling.

Take this morning, for instance. As usual, the Alpha rushed to shower after training and accidentally walked in on Julian while he was changing. Julian couldn’t remember whether it was the Alpha’s hurried exit or the stream of apologies that left him more flustered.

If he were such a gentleman, it wouldn’t have been a surprise. But Julian knew how Edward was, charming and flirtatious with other Omegas, yet reserved with him.

Was he afraid of me? Why couldn’t the Alpha understand that his Omega longed for him to find the courage to at least hold him?

Just as Julian neared the library, he spotted Edward.

"Now I don’t have to call him!"

But then his heart skipped a beat.

Edward was hugging another Omega—his ex-girlfriend, to be precise. Tears brimmed in Julian’s eyes as he turned and walked away.
