The remaining De Nile servants marched through the shed door, before Abbey quickly closed it and leaned against it.
Abbey: Why do they never say any words? Even I talk. How hard is it to talk?
She walked back towards the orchard. Her focus was on the team of athletes, so her gaze did carry towards the science team.
Cleo and Draculaura carefully filled test tubes full of a light blue liquid, with Ghoulia constantly adjusting the temperature for more of the boiling pink liquid. Draculaura was trying to not let her hands shake in her task. Cleo seemed surprisingly adept to the task, yet she kept a similar pace with Draculaura. Frankie was sorting through the remaining boxes for spare test tubes and thermal gloves. That was what she could do with one hand.
Draculaura: And you're sure the last component we need is what Robecca and Cupid will be bringing over?
Ghoulia: Uhhuh uhhruhh!
Draculaura: I'm not doubting you, no. I'm just wanting to make sure we have everything set up!
She quickly stepped back with Ghoulia's angry look. She almost dropped her gloves.
Draculaura: You are the expert, I know, I just wanted to double-check and make sure everything was right as it should be.
Cleo: Ghoulia wouldn't have told us to separate the cure if it wasn't near completion. These are to test the dosage amount of the magical sample, right?
Ghoulia: Uhh uhh.
She then tapped a small cylindrical beaker full of pure quartz shards.
Ghoulia: Uhhuhuh huhh.
Draculaura: And that's to see how much quartz is needed for the cure. Oh, okay, I get it! We don't want too much magic in the cure to mess up with the natural magic levels, but we need enough to counter the physical part of the curse!
Frankie: We're in luck that this world has so much magic at its dispense. It's been making this cure process easy. Just hope the actual curing itself goes smoothly. We have a school of people to cure. And then the stragglers outside of the campus. We don't even know how many people total we need to cure, or where they all are. Where do you think our runner's are?
Cleo: Must still be by the tower.
Cleo picked up one of the quartz shards. She didn't lean down to rub Frankie's back in sympathy.
Cleo: Everyone's going to be fine, Frankie, we're all going to make sure of that.
Frankie smiled more in return.
Frankie: Thanks Cleo. It is good that there's still some good moments happening in this mess.
Toraeli: Woah, these are all things your school does?
Toralei was reading the yearbooks of Cedar's year. They were all careful to not tear them off the vines, and Toralei's tail was swishing around in curiosity.
Cedar: Yep! We have archery, track, croquet, ice-skating, a whole bunch of sports at our school! Plus all of the different clubs we have too. Though, I don't think we have anything like your...casketball, is that what you said?
Lagoona: Casketball. That's how you say it. You bounce a ball and try to get it through the hoop.
Cedar: Oh, we call that basketball, but you try to get the ball in a picnic basket held up in the air by birds!
