Raaz ( Mystery)

Chapter 4

Asher :

Asher always started his investigation from the place where it all started. After leaving his apartment he went straight to Muhammad Mehmood Zaidi's office. He called Anastasia who was a volunteer working under him on the way to gather all other volunteers in the office too.

When he got there he checked all the files and drawers to find any clues but there was nothing suspicious. He opened the file to find any relative or family members information and saw a number. He asked Fyodor to call it. He went out to get himself a cup of coffee from the cafe he spotted near the office while driving.

While walking towards the cafe he clashed with someone. He looked at her for a mere second and then moved past her rapidly. He heard "I'm sorry" in the background but didn't bother to look back.

When he came back inside the office he saw her sitting on the couch. She had an unreadable expression on her face. She was wearing a mint green dress with white under cap and green headscarf. He stood still at the door for a moment. She didn't seem to notice him. He heard her saying "Kidher chalay gayay hain ap baba" ( Where have you disappeared dad?) The moment he heard those words he saw them seeping inside him taking him back to the unpleasant past.

After returning back from his thoughts he composed himself by putting up his professional expression. He entered the room and introduced himself and asked how she was related to the case. Her face went blank and she seemed lost. After a few moments of awkward silence she finally said . "I am Mihrimah Zaidi the daughter of Muhammad Mehmood Zaidi".

After the introduction he asked her a few more questions related to her father including when was the last time she saw and talked to him.

At the end he said "Thank you for cooperating Miss Zaidi. We will contact you for further assistance." She replied with a nod. When she left the office Asher sat on the rocking chair thinking about this encounter.
