Please note, that this is not about the people, who "play" the ghouls.
It's about the personality that the ghouls represent.

CW/TW:
• mention of scars and blood
• Ghouls changing elements (Water to Fire)

Always remember: Communication is key and only consent is sexy. Stay safe🫶🏻

As I started writing this chapter, Germany lost the Euro2024 quarterfinal to Spain. I'm so disappointed rn😮‍💨
With losing this match Toni Kroos ends his career and now we lost another player from the WC 2014 winning team. I simply can't😭
(tbf, I don't really care for soccer outside of those big tournaments, but anywayyyyyy)
Also I started a new job and I'm not feeling very confident right now, so I wrote some fluffy Sodo x Rain, because I need all the love rn💔
Enjoyyyyyyy and lmk what you think🫶🏻

It was raining outside. Again.
Sodo stood at the window in the common room and watched the autumn winds whirl the fallen leaves and raindrops around. His tail was lashing vigorously behind his back. He hated this weather.

Sodo didn't even turn around as he heard the soft footsteps aproaching from behind.
"What are you doing out here?" Rain whispered in his lover's ear as he snuggled against his back.
"Watching the Rain..." Sodo said flatly, not in the mood to talk.
The water ghoul planted a soft kiss on the back of Sodo's head. "You should come to my room, I bet you're cold." He softly cooed in the fire ghoul's ear.

"I'm fine!", Sodo grumbled but as Rain started to move away from his back, taking his warmth with him, he shuddered.
A small laugh escaped Rain's mouth "Sure you are. Come on, I know you hate this weather, let me cuddle you, so you don't have to freeze out here."

As Sodo turned away from the window, Rain opened up his arms to take the shuddering ghoul into a warming hug. Sodo snuggled up against him, the tension instantly releasing from his shoulders as he pressed his head firmly against Rain's chest.
"Rain..." Sodo whimpered.
The water ghoul soflty rubbed his back while making low, comforting noises.
"Let's get you somewhere warmer." Rain whispered in his ear after a while.

He grabbed Sodo's cool hand and dragged him along to his room. Inside it was cozy and warm. Rain was the only one of the ghouls that actually used the fireplace inside their rooms. "Would you like some tea?" He offered to the fire ghoul. "No, I just want to hug you. Please?" Sodo nearly whined.
"Sure baby, come here" Rain pulled Sodo into his lap as they sat down on the dark blue leather sofa. Sodo's tail immediately wrapped around Rain's wrist, begging him to keep his hands on Sodo's body.
The storm outside reached another peak, the wind rattled on the windows, which resulted in another shudder from Sodo in Rain's arms.

"What is it, Dew?" The water ghoul softly asked, raking his hand through Sodo's long blond hair.
"I'm still so cold" Whispered Sodo against his chest. Rain huffed softly, tilting the fire ghoul's chin upwards and taking his lips into a gentle kiss.
His hands slowly sliding to the side of Sodo's neck, where the scars from his gills were. A small hiss escaped Sodo's mouth as Rain touched the uneven scar tissue.
"Does it still hurt?" The water ghoul asked. He nodded quietly before explaining "I hate it. It's scarred over but sometimes it burns and itches but I can't scratch it, it will bleed." With a sight his head sank against Rain's chest.

The water ghoul continued to massage his scalp absentmindedly while thinking about the painful process of changing elements. How bad Sodo must've felt during that time, the physical and psychological pain he has experienced was more than Rain thought he could ever take in his life.
He kissed Sodo's long blond hair und mumbled to his head "I'm so sorry baby, you did not deserve this torture."
Sodo sighed again "It's not your fault, Rain. It never has been. I'm okay now."
"I just want you to know that I'm here. I'll always be here for you, no matter what." Rain whispered in his lover's ear.
Sodo was clinging to him, pressing his body flush to Rain's as if he wanted to crawl inside of him.
"I'm not really feeling good right now, can I stay here with you tonight?" He asked the water ghoul.
"Sure baby, stay as long as you want." Rain cooed before lifting him up and carrying him to his bed.

The smaller ghoul whimpered as the water ghoul placed him on the black satin sheets, separating their bodies for a split second.
Rain climbed into his bed right behind Sodo and wrapped his arms around him.
Sodo finally fell asleep to Rain holding him tight and whispering all the things he was worthy of and he deserved. He knew Rain's love was nerverending, he was safe in his arms.
