(Length: 1000 words)
Scotty PoV Band practice sucked ass these days. He's so exhausted after constantly pouring his heart and soul into the music and yet it was still expected from him to give more. Why could no one see that he wasn't able to give any more? "Come on guys. Just one more, I'm begging you!" Michael shouted over Gunnar's drumplay who tried to drown out the singer's voice. "I can't Michael, my fingers are basically bleeding. Let's just quit it for today." Danny, their bassist, shouted back.
Michael pouted like he always did when Danny told him to stop. He looked good with it though, truly like a glam god with his wavy platinum blonde hair. But just not as good as his brother. Said brother slid the shoulder strap of his bass off of his shoulders, clearly showing the singer that he would indeed quit it for today; if Michael liked it or not. Scotty quickly followed suit. "Seriously Scotty? You too?" Michael groaned, raking a hand through his hair.
"Sorry dude..." He mumbled, although it was overshadowed by Gunnar, who was still banging on his drums like a lunatic. Danny walked over, clearly indecisive if he should be annoyed or amused. "Seriously Gunnar, STOP!" And finally it was quiet. Also quiet was Michael who packed up his things without saying another word and stormed out of their rehearsal room. Scotty looked after him. "He'll be okay, but it will take him one to three business days until he's speaking with us again." Danny's voice came from beside him, startling him slightly.
Gunnar also left and closed the door behind him that Michael had left wide open. Now that they were alone the silence was uncomfortably loud in his ears. "What's wrong Scotty?" Danny suddenly asked, reading the emotion that was so clearly written in his face. "Nothing, just tired." He didn't know why he couldn't just talk to Danny and show him what kind of a disaster his insides really were. But the bassist didn't seem to believe him anyway. His eyes still lingered on Scotty's eyeshadow, that was smudged, he had no doubt about it.
"Since when are you so shy, Ventura?" Danny tried it with a challenge, knowing he would always get Scotty to come out of his shell with it. "Want me to do something bold, Martin?" Scotty teased back, a small smile tugging on his mouth as he licked his lips and watched Danny follow the movement with his eyes. "Mhm, I do." The bassist decided to go along with it, his eyes snapping back to Scotty's, daring him to say or do anything he wanted. If only he knew what kind of a whirlwind of emotions currently raged inside of his mind.
Scotty stepped closer to the taller bassist. "Watch this." And then he just did it. The thing he had wanted to do for so long already. Kissing Danny. Just admitting everything to him. How he felt about him, how it kept him from sleeping and from being present during band practice. The gnawing uncertainty in his gut because he didn't know if Danny felt the same for him and how constantly holding back made him emotionally so tired he nearly couldn't take it anymore.
All his thoughts and all the words he wanted to say were suddenly quieted as he pressed his lips to Danny's, feeling how the bassist laid his hands on his hips and pulled him closer, deepening their kiss and hungrily asking for more by licking softly along Scotty's lower lip. He gave in. Gave in to the sensation of Danny's hands on his body, Danny's lips on his own, gave his everything for this kiss that could've lasted 2 Minutes or a whole eternity. When they broke apart, both panting slightly, Danny forgot to take his hands away from Scotty's hips, but the guitarist didn't mind it at all.
"Well, I gotta admit, that was something damn bold to do." Danny licked his kiss swollen lips, a warm sparkle lingering in his eyes. "Yeah, uuuhhh..." Now that the rush of the challenge and the kiss slowly faded Scotty couldn't help but to get back to his usual shy and quiet self. "I can hear you thinking, but I can't read your thoughts, Scotty. Talk to me." Danny's voice was all quiet now, the words only meant for him. Just like that soft glint in his eyes. "This between us..." He couldn't finish the sentence, he didn't know how. "Is something mutual." The bassist helped him out.
A deep sigh of relief left his lips as he felt his body relax and getting pulled even closer to Danny again. "Should I do something bold now?" Whispered Danny, his lips only a mere inch away from Scotty's, who longed for him to close the space. Soft sounds of agreement fell from his lips and he felt himself getting lost in the bassist's eyes. Seconds later he felt the lips of his bandmate on his own again. How many nights had he dreamed of this moment? How many times had he woken up from a dream that ended just like this? Except that this was no dream anymore. This was real and it felt so good.
Scotty wrapped his arms around Danny's neck as the bassist's tongue invaded his mouth, making him groan softly. "I've waited a long time for you to finally be bold enough to do this with me." Danny's words hit him hard. "You already knew?" Damn, this was embarrassing and he had thought he was being sneaky with his crush on his bandmate. A soft chuckle came from said bandmate, his hands gently cradling Scotty's face. "I did, but I didn't want to scare you, so I waited until you were ready. I'm glad you kissed me today, Scotty. Would you be up to date me?"
Gasping softly, Scotty couldn't hide the smile that tugged on his lips. "I would love to. But what about Michael and Gunnar? I'm afraid it will destroy the band dynamic." Danny leaned his forehead against Scotty's, shushing his doubts with another kiss. "We will figure this out. Together. I promise."
