Homecoming was a few days ago and it was pretty nice, Jackie had an auction that wasn't going so well until Cole stepped up and helped, the crowd seemed to love him and Jackie seemed more affected by the Cole effect than ever

But today was a very sad day for both of us, today was Lucy's birthday, making my heart ache but it was Jackie whom I worried about

She was closest to her, and I wanted to be there for her but all she seemed to say was "I'm fine". Respecting her privacy I didn't want to push it

Having breakfast downstairs
Lee and I grabbed pizza to eat but Katherine stopped us soon after seeing our chosen food
"Guys is that what you are having for breakfast?" She asked and Lee answered "It's a ham and mushroom pizza. It's like, all the food groups" I just smiled and nodded at his statement

In that moment Jackie came downstairs with a teapot I remembered, Jackie and Lucy loved going shopping for those kinds of stuff, vintage teapots they thrifted in various stores

As Jackie looked for the tea bags Katherine had bought for her, Parker accidentally knocked Jackie's teapot over into the sink and the sound of it shattering made my chest ache even more, not just because it broke but for Jackie

At school everything was weird
Jackie hadn't spoken a single word since we left the house

As the bell rang I accompanied her and Alex to her locker as she organized her books

Filling the silence Alex decided to speak "You're very quiet today." "you sure you're okay?" He asked with a worried expression on his face

Jackie only looked and nodded at him saying "Yeah, I'm Fine" going back to her books

"Just a headache" she added closing her locker before heading to class

classes went by quickly, mostly because I didn't pay attention to them, I daydreamed about Lucy, and although we weren't as close as her and Jackie we had our moments that made us. Us

Walking into the bathroom I could hear girls gossiping, and when I heard my name I couldn't help but try and listen

"I really need somebody new to flirt with." The first girl stated

And the other one continued no longer after "Except those new girls, you know, Jackie and Michelle are cornering the market on all the available boys" she added

Making the other girl ask  "Do you think they are pretty?"

The other girl just scoffed "You don't have to be pretty when you know"

I had enough and was about to leave when they mentioned our parents

"Well, plus that whole helpless orphan thing."

"Like, they won the lottery when their parents died" she exclaimed

I grabbed my bag and entered the bathroom, the look on their face was pure shook, "oh, no don't stop just because I'm here, I would love to hear how I won the lottery when my parents died" I fired back at them as tears threatened to fall down my face,
