Decisions or dumbasses

Evangeline dreamt that she was in her room in the Underworld. She saw Nico's rock on the floor and went to go pick it up, it might be a dream but she was going to pick it up anyway.

Wood creaked from behind her, she turned around but didn't see anything, she turned around once again and the mirror on her dresser cracked and fell on the ground.

When she came out of her shock she kneeled to pick up the broken glass when one of the pieces startled her once again Bianca standing behind her, Evangeline dropped the glass causing it to cut across her right palm. When she looked at the piece again there was nothing.

The brunette looked around the room, trying to see if anyone was there. But it was just her.

It was getting harder for her to breathe, the paranoia was getting to her. Everywhere she looked she thought she saw Bianca but whenever she looked again there was nobody. Her eyes have always fooled her, she always saw ghosts even when she didn't ask to. Evangeline figured it was a game her mind was playing with her much like it did with her mother's spirit.

Evangeline woke up gasping for air, covered in sweat and a sharp pain in her hand. She took a look at her palm and saw blood seeping out of the cut that ran along the palm of her hand. She grabbed the handkerchief she kept nearby and wrapped it around her hand.

She had this feeling to tell someone about this but she didn't know who would understand. It's not a normal thing to see ghosts so she didn't really have many people to talk to them about. But Percy knew about her visions, maybe he'd understand.

But he was probably asleep by now, so there was no point in going over to cabin three and waking him up. She also didn't really have the energy to deal with Tyson's questions. She sometimes wondered if it was a Poseidon family thing to ask an annoying amount of questions.

Just after dawn, the quest members met at Zeus's fist. Evangeline packed her bag. Thermos filled with nectar, a bag of ambrosia, bedroll, clothes, and flashlights for Annabeth's sake. She still had the rock Nico had given her in the pocket of her jeans.

It was a clear morning. The fog burned away with the sun and the sky was a clear blue. Juniper and Grover stood apart from the group. Juniper had been crying again, but she was trying to keep it together for Grover's sake. The dryad kept fussing with his clothes, straightening his rasta cap, and brushing goat fur off his clothes.

Chiron and Quintus stood with the other campers who'd come to wish them well, but there was too much activity for it to feel like a happy send-off. A couple of tents had been set up by the rocks for guard duty. Beckendorf and his siblings, other kids of Hephaestus, were working on a line of defensive spikes and trenches. Chiron had decided they needed to guard the Labyrinth exit at all times.

Annabeth was doing one last check on Evangeline. And making sure the brunette didn't see a death aura around her. Tyson and Percy walked over, making Annabeth frown.

"You look terrible," Evangeline observed.

"He killed the water fountain last night," Tyson confided.

"What?" Annabeth asked.

Before the boy could answer, Chiron trotted over. "Well, it appears you are ready!"

The centaur was trying to sound upbeat, but the brunette could tell he was also anxious.

"Hey, uh, Chiron, can I ask you a favor while I'm gone?"

"Of course, my boy."

"Be right back, guys," Percy said, nodding towards the woods. Chiron raised an eyebrow but followed the boy out of earshot.
