Rosy handed Henry his smoothie, which he just placed on the island and we alll stared at Cade.

When the fuck did he get here? And he heard me say he has a girlfriend which was just a suspicion. Am so dead.

"Riley, did you just say I have a girlfriend? "

"Yeah." I said instantly trying to hide my fear. Cause his eyes were literally burning through me.

"Who? " they all said simultaneously

"Um.. R-uby? " I said or rather asked.

I had the three laugh and I felt so dumb. Rosy even knows more than me. I never should've judged Cade or even Ruby though she's still a bitch. My thoughts were cut short, when Kelly Sally and Chloe walked in.

"Are we having a family meeting or something? " Chloe asked as she sat next to Henry.

We aren't even family. Great now almost everyone is here. Sally sat opposite Henry and Kelly sat next to her.

"Ruby isn't my girlfriend. " Cade said while still breathing heavily from laughing so hard and leaning on the island for support.

"Am not? " Ruby asked from the doorway.

Oh oh. Trouble. Ruby walked in , sat down next to Chloe and started crying. I would also cry but not  in front of everyone.

Chloe put a comforting hand on Ruby's back as she cried her eyes out.

Cade came and sat across from me and and an awkward silence prevailed. Only Ruby's muffled crys were being heard.

Suddenly she bashed out at Cade.

"Cade, if I am not your girlfriend, why would you call me, to come  all this way? And don't you dare tell me it's because of your damn birthday. " Ruby said looking really angry her eyes the same colour as her hair.

"Hey! It's my birthday too you know. "Henry said.

" Oh shut up. "Ruby and Cade both said in an angry voice.

" Ruby, are you dumb or something? I invited this people over here to come. Does that mean, they are my girlfriends or something. No it doesn't. So get that through your thick head."

It was really getting hot in here.

"Wow, Cade you've changed a lot. But it's all good. I won't be attending your dumb birthday party. I'm going home.  I hope you choke on the cake. " Ruby said as she walked out of the kitchen and flipped Cade the bird .

Well that was awkward. But I'm very happy they weren't dating. Now I can be with Cade. But what about Seb? Or even Henry?

Am so messed up.

Henry started drinking his smoothie and I finished eating my brunch , the rest requested  Rosy to make them some burgers. Although  I would love some I was full already.

"Hey Riley can we have that talk now , outside somewhere private? "Henry said and my eyes widened  fully .

Why did he have to say that in front of everyone.  Chloe gave me a death glare. I know I have the potential of stealing  her boyfriend  but maybe I am not interested . Maybe.

"Sure let's go."I said standing  up and following  Henry out. I could still feel everyone's eyes on me. So awkward.

As we stepped out of the house I couldn't help but see Ruby struggling  to put her suitcase  in what I presumed was an Uber. A big smile came to my face but I still felt sorry.

We walked to the back of the house with total silence.

"Since we are both in shorts why don't we deep our  legs into the swimming  pool?"Henry said and we  put our legs  in the swimming  pool and the water just felt awesome since it was so hot.

"So what are we talking about? "I asked

"Riley I think you know what we are supposed  to talk about."

"What Henry? "I asked calmly.

"Why did you tell me to leave?"

"The question  is why did you leave? "

"You told me to."

"Yeah for that night only but you left like forever and you've been acting like a jerk."

"Wow, me acting  like a jerk, how?"

"You called my friend a stranger. "

"Seb? Don't tell me you're into him . You call me a jerk because I called someone a stranger? "

"Not only that Henry,  you go on and find yourself a girlfriend.  Who you go kissing in hallways. Did you like me or was it just for the fun of it?"

"Was I to stay single because I kissed you a couple of times that night?"

"I don't mean it like that. You could've texted me to meet up somewhere so we could talk . But you make the talk months after we made out. "

"I was afraid you wouldn't reply to my message. "

"I didn't block you , so you had a pretty good chance that I would've replied. "

"And where would I take you ? We are in school remember  and we have to study."

"I get we have to study but there was always time . You did find time to take me to your family bench."

"What family bench?"

"Wait. What!? You lied to me?"

"Oh shit . I only did it so you could love me more?"

"What? Why play with my feelings  that much . Were you even forced to do computer  science by your dad?"

Silence.

"So you lied about that too. Oh my God I have never been so stupid . And to think I spent that night  crying  and calling my self stupid. I should've known ." I said standing  up and wearing my sandals ready to leave this jerk here .

"Wait Riley am sorry, I didn't want to lose to Cade but I guess I've already have . Please at least forgive me even if we will never be together. "He said while standing  up too and I was now face to face with him.

"I can't belive this . Did you lie to Chloe too?"

"No,"

"So why lie to me?"

"She isn't worth my lies."

"So I am ? You aren't making this any better.

"I mean your too precious  to lose , but I learnt that the hard way. "He moved closer and I took a step  back almost falling into the pool . But guess what he caught me. Again. DEJA  VU!

But since we  were at the edge of the swimming  pool we ended up falling into the pool . I fought hard to rise to the surface.

But soon felt a protective  hand on my waist which guided me to the surface.  He saved me from drowning.  I guess I should be glad.

"Thanks ."

"No worries. "

So they weren't actually dating.  Or it was just one sided .

Now I feel sorry for Ruby but not really 🤣
