In the picturesque setting of the Maldives, Tom and Emma decided to explore the island by renting a car and embarking on a scenic drive. The beauty of the surroundings seemed to cast a spell, creating an atmosphere of tranquility and connection.
As they drove along, Tom, breaking the silence, suggested, "Emma, you know, we've known each other for a relatively short time. How about we become friends? It's better to be friends than strangers, don't you think?"
Emma, appreciating the sentiment, nodded with a warm smile, "I'm okay with that, Tom. Friends it is."
As they considered their dinner options, Tom asked Emma about her preferences.
Tom: "What about lobster? Do you like to ear?"
Emma, intrigued by the suggestion, replied, "Sure, we can eat lobster".
Tom: (surprised) "Are you sure it's okay? You know, you're not allergic to it?"
Tom, hesitating for a moment, shared, "Well, Rachel was allergic to lobster."
Emma, surprised by the revelation, responded, "Tom, I am not Rachel. I don't have any known allergies to lobster."
Sensing Tom's guilt, Emma reassured him, "It's okay, Tom. Just because I look like Rachel, it's easy for old memories to surface. Let's enjoy our dinner."
As the car glided along the island roads, Tom couldn't help but steal glances at Emma. The uncanny resemblance to Rachel continued to stir his thoughts, and a sense of disbelief lingered in his mind.
Tom, wrestling with the notion that Emma could look exactly like Rachel, pondered the idea that there are supposedly seven people who look alike in the world. However, the reality of this phenomenon unsettled him as they drove towards the restaurant to enjoy lobster.
As Emma and Tom entered the restaurant, the ambient sounds of chatter and clinking cutlery surrounded them. Amidst the din, a voice calling out Emma's name reached her ears, causing her to turn around with surprise.
Voice: "Emma, is that you?"
Emma's eyes widened as she recognized Ronald, the physiotherapist who had been a crucial part of her recovery five years ago. A warm smile adorned Ronald's face as they approached each other.
Emma: "Ronald! It's been years. How have you been?"
Ronald, extending a friendly handshake, replied, "Emma, it's great to see you. I've been volunteering here in the Maldives. How's everything with you?"
Emma, catching up on the years, responded, "Well, a lot has changed. Lucas and I aren't together anymore. This is Tom."
