Rome

"Why'd you do it?"

"Wha?"

"You cheated on me, and then you fucked me and dipped afterwards? What did you gain?"

"I'm sorry."

"For what?"

"E-everything Siri. Can we get back to what we used to be?"

"We had nothing. You're only sorry that I will expose you once and for all."

"Expose," She faded away. I tried to chase her. "Experience this." She launched me out the window, screeching like a bird, and I fell back so far that I ended up falling off my bed, in cold sweat.

The cold sweat dropped off my forehead as I looked at the time. It was 6:45 am, and school doesn't start until 8 am. I groggily got up out of bed doing a small exercise to wake up my body. The regular jumping in place, push ups and sit ups. I stretched my body up as I went to the bathroom, doing my daily regimen of hygiene. I ran downstairs as it was 7:10, and I haven't even made breakfast yet so I drunk some of my protein smoothie from last night as I heard the doorbell ring. I looked though the peephole seeing the detective that took Solana and I's statements for the drive by shooting.

"Good morning."

"Good Morning, Roman? How are you?"

"Fine, would you like to come in?" He nodded as I let him in. If I'm late, I could just get an excuse from one of the best detectives on the base here in our city. I offered water but he said it will be brief. "So, what's this about? Is there a lead on the drive by case?"

"Yes, there were multiple witness reports talking about how they seen the car, which was almost like an old Buick sedan with tinted windows. Some Ring cameras show Solana sprinting through people's yards and a few alley ways as she ran towards your house,"
Damn, I never knew she was really taking flight but who wouldn't? "We should be able to identify the car being used but the person still might take some time." I looked down at my kitchen floor as we stood.

"So what's next?"

"We might bring in petty criminals with violent backgrounds just to rule out any of the others. This is not the only case of why I'm here today." I looked up at him.

"What is it?"

"Do you know Pierre Don?" I froze at the name. The Don is this community leader that genuinely helps the poor and misfortunate in the guise from his 'donations'. He's a drug lord. I volunteered at his community events and he liked my drive. I declined his petty boy run job for thousands of dollars but he managed to sneak in a baggy in my locker at school. The next day, there's was a surprise drug and paraphernalia check. He basically almost set me up and I wasn't going for it. I managed to sneak it into my car and after the search was done, I drove home and placed it in one of my shoe box. It's been there ever since.

"He's the one that does those community give back events right?" I said in a quizzing way.

"Yeah, I thought maybe you've crossed paths with him lately?" Oh.

"I volunteered one time with him for a Toys for Tots event."

"How that went?" He said ready to jot down notes.

"It was interesting."

"Interesting how?"

"He wanted me to join his campaign for change but I just made varsity around that time- is this significant towards the shooting? You think he's behind it?" The detective doubled down to I guess make me feel better. I didn't feel much different after.
