Connor
I held his hand, and looked up into his deep brown eyes. I had to get this off my chest, I have been wanting to tell him this for the longest time. I was still in the hospital, and I was planning to tell him after I got out, but it couldn't wait. Jude could tell I was about to tell him something important, because his face went from smiling to serious.
"Jude, I need to tell you something. You don't have to say anything, I just need to tell you." I said. He nodded, his face still serious.
"Okay," I froze. I couldn't do it. I took my hand out of his grasp, and looked the other direction.
"It's okay, you don't have to be scared," Jude smiled. He put his finger to my chin and moved turned my face towards his so I was looking at him again. "You have nothing to worry about, okay?" He said. I nodded. With that little speech, I think I was ready.
"Jude... I really like you."
I couldn't tell if he was happy, or mad, or sad, or nervous, because his face was expressionless. This kid would be really good at poker. "Did you hear me?" I asked. Maybe that's why he was expressionless.
"No, I heard you. Connor, are you being serious?" He asked me. I nodded.
"Of course I am being serious. I mean, I kissed you, twice," I replied. Jude still wasn't convinced.
"What about Daria?" Now, that I saw coming.
"I never liked her, Jude. The only reason I dated her, was so that my dad would let be around you. I thought that if he thought I was straight, he wouldn't care - which he didn't. He thought I spent all of my time with her-" I was cut off.
"You kind of did," Jude remarked. He was right, I guess.
"I'm sorry, Jude. I guess I was just, confused, when I asked her out. I mean, I tried to become straight by dating her as well. I figured out that you are born the way you are, and there is no changing that. You know I'm not smart, Jude. I tried my hardest."
"It's okay, Connor. I'm sorry-"
"I shouldn't of lead you on." I finally said. Jude laughed, took my hand, and intertwined our fingers. I smiled at the warmth of his hand, I felt something I have never felt before, not with anyone but him.
"I like you too, Connor."
Now I was the expressionless one.
