Dustin waited for Jude at the doorstep. Dustin was nervous, his feelings were all over the place. He knew it was wrong to be hanging out with Connor's boyfriend, especially not telling him, but he was dying to know how it felt. He has had his eye on Jude for awhile now.

A few moments later, Jude came out from the house and greeted Dustin.

"Hey. Are you ready?" He asked. All Dustin could do was nod. Jude looked good. He was wearing a white skin-tight swim shirt with blue bathing suit bottoms. He had a pair of black converse on, and even though it was an odd shoe choice for the beach, Dustin still liked it.

"Yeah. Let's go," Dustin replied, smiling.

The two of them walked side by side. "So, what is Connor doing today?" Dustin asked.

"I don't know. Probably sleeping," Jude chuckled. Jude's backpack was draped on his right shoulder, his other hand his side. Dustin purposely did the same. He knew that what he was doing was wrong, but he liked it. Ever so often their hands would brush together. Dustin loved that feeling.

The two of them finally arrived at the beach, and they found a place to sit near the water. Jude wasn't prepared at all, him bringing nothing. That didn't matter though, because they were only going to be here for an hour.

"It's really nice out today," Jude said, looking  at the sky. Jude loved nature, most of the time he was always outside doing something.

Nice like your face, Dustin thought. Shit! No, I didn't mean that, I'm sorry. Dustin said in his head once again, forgetting that Jude couldn't hear him. Dustin's eyes were beautiful out in the sunlight, the deep blue they usually were turned into this amazing icy blue. Jude couldn't help but stare at them, his favorite color being blue made it even worse for the stares.

"So, what do you want to do? Anything you want." Dustin smiled. Jude hadn't been to the beach that often, so it took him a couple of minutes to figure it out.

"Well, we could go swimming. Or we could go on a walk. Or we could sit here," Jude suggested. Dustin laughed at this.

"You literally just mentioned all of the suggestions."

"Oh, right. Okay... Let's go swimming then." Jude said, running toward the ocean. "I'll race you!"

Connor called Jude twice, and he didn't pick up the phone once. This wasn't like Jude, most of the time he always called back within five minutes. It's been two hours.

Connor called Mariana's phone, and out of luck she answered within a couple rings.

"Hey, Connor!" Mariana said happily over the line.

"Hi. Do you know where Jude is?" Connor asked. There was silence for a couple seconds.

"You know, I was just wondering that myself. I haven't seen him for a couple of hours, figured he was with you. Everybody is home though," Mariana replied. This worried Connor, a lot.

"Thanks, I'll talk to you later." Connor said as he hung up the phone. I shouldn't be worried, though. I shouldn't monitor everywhere he goes, Connor thought. He just shrugged it off and assumed Jude was just out somewhere.

Jude was actually having the time of his life, with another boy.

If Connor were to ever find out about that, he would be heartbroken. Connor had never had the guts to tell him, but he really did love Jude.

Jude hadn't thought about Connor once today. He ended up staying at the beach all day. He got sunburnt to death, but he didn't mind.

"I had a lot of fun with you today, Jude." Dustin told his new friend, as he was walking him home. His dark hair was matted down to his forehead, and his eyes were returning to that deep blue they were in the dark, since the sun was setting.

"Me too. We should hang out again, maybe Connor can come next time." Jude smiled, as did Dustin, but on the inside it broke him. Dustin had liked Jude just when Connor had started to like Jude. He never had the courage to tell him that though, because he thought he would screw it up. Looking back, that was a dumb mistake.

"Yeah... well, it looks like you're home. I'll see you in Algebra tomorrow." Dustin waved to Jude, and went his own way.

"Bye!" Jude called after him, and headed inside. When Jude entered, the whole family was sitting in the living room staring at him. Jude was confused.

"Um, hey, guys," Jude sounded nervous.

"Where were you?" Stef asked. "We have been worried sick!"

"I was at the beach... I told you this," Jude replied.

"We thought you would be gone for an hour. You were gone all day! You left your cell phone here so there was no way of knowing where you were," Lena said. The two of them looked pretty mad.

"I'm sorry, I guess I was just having so much fun that I lost track of time. It won't happen again, I swear." Jude reassured.

"Did Connor have his phone on him?" Stef asked. Realization struck Jude. Connor! He hadn't contacted Connor all day. He was probably worried sick right, which he was.

"Um, I didn't go with Connor. I'll be right back." Jude said, as he bolted up the stairs of the house. When he entered his room, his phone lay right where he left it this morning. He opened it, and he was two missed calls, one voicemails and four texts from Connor.

Hey Jude 9:36 AM

Are you still sleeping 11:06 AM

Jude? 2:44 PM

Are you ok? 6:28 PM

Jude dialed Connor's number as fast as he could and waited for the boy to answer. Connor answered after the fourth ring.

"Jude! I have been worried about you," Connor said on the other side. (Lmao)

"Hey, I'm so sorry. I forgot my phone today, and I totally forgot to text you this morning. I'm really sorry about that." Jude said. He meant it too.

"I'm not mad, I'm just glad that you're okay. What were you doing today?"

"I went to the beach. Well, I have to go eat dinner. I'll text you later." Jude and Connor exchanged their goodbyes, and Jude hung up the phone. Jude went downstairs for dinner, still not changed.

"So you weren't there with Connor? Who were you with?" Callie asked her little brother.

"My friend Dustin." Jude said, as he started to smile. Lena and Mariana exchanged worried glances.

"He's just a friend, right? Or are you seeing him as well?" Jesus said. Everybody slowly turned their heads toward Jesus, as he put his hands up in defeat.

"No." Jude said. "We are just friends."
