Chapter 13: Going mad?

Safilix's Pov:

I hated that I had to do this but it was life or death. My life or death to be exact.  The reason my life was on the line was because my master wanted me to watch Nia Jones. To see if it were true that the monsters hanging around her were her supposed 'mates'.

Most if not all monsters leave their mark as a sign that their partner is in fact their mate. So I needed to watch Nia for any signs of any marks appearing on her. Bite marks from the werewolf and vampire, yet with the other two males, their claim on her could be anything.

Nia's week consisted of having breakfast with at least one of the monsters hanging around her. Going to class, then spending time in her dorm to iron out homework.

After that the werewolf and the red-headed guy would pick her up and they'd go to the local woods for what seemed to be medication and play fighting. The three would either eat lunch together or the vampire would pick up Nia for lunch.

After lunch Nia would spend time with the hunters Liera and Hope, hanging out for a few hours. She'd share dinner with all four of the monsters, they looked happy together.

The only consistency I found is that each day is as follows the monsters share kisses and light touches but nothing beyond that, no claiming marks on her of any kind.

These reports did nothing but frustrate my master and led to me having a new order to carry out at all costs. Life or death.

Disappearing into the light I searched for Nia Jones, thanks to all the practice I had at following her for the past two weeks, it was easy to find her. Nia was with the vampire, the rest of their possible mates were elsewhere.

The pair was walking across the parking lot to a mall, Nia wearing a long puffy sleeved tan shirt under a sky blue overall dress, white socks, and purple and blue sneakers. Her braids are in twin ponytails. The vampire wore a short-sleeved blue t-shirt and black jeans with black sneakers.

I stepped out of the light before allowing my magic to seep over my body rendering me invisible and undetectable, unless I touched a physical object while distracted. I trailed closer behind them than I have ever dared to, I needed to hear their voices to learn their weakness.

"What's the plan, Roger?" Nia asked as he held the doors open for her.

I shifted through the door, using a bit more of my magic as I followed.

"I don't like seeing you ruin your clothes, I decided to get more for you" Roger explained as he offered his arm for her to take.

"You don't have to do all that" Nia started to say as she took his arm, her head downcast, "I'm fine with borrowing your clothes every now and again"

Roger grabbed her chin, lifting her head up as he looked down at her with a raised eyebrow, "Who did you give yourself to romantically and sexually?"

"You and our mates" Her answer was breathless.

"And trust the fact that we will take care of each other no matter what, Yes?" he lowered his head brushing his lips against hers.

"Yes," She leaned forward to capture his lips in a kiss.

He pulled back with a chuckle, "So this outing is within expectations, My love. I will spoil you rotten eventually and you will love it because you are worthy of nothing less"

Nia studied his face before she let go of his arm and turned around completely facing me. Her brown eyes started to water a little and without a word, Roger wrapped his arms around her waist pulling her into his cold embrace.
