Sunlight shines through the pink satin curtains as my eyes slowly open.

I feel something warm snuggled up to my side and realize it's Birdie in her cute little ice cream pjs that made my dick twitch.

Something's seriously wrong with me.

When she asked me if she could sleep in her bed with her because she didn't feel safe I wanted to wrap my arms around her but I stopped myself.

I shouldn't be letting her get this close to me.

It's not going to end well for either of us but still I find myself wrapping my arms around her torso and falling back into a deep sleep.

When I wake up I feel like I'm wrapped up in a thick warm blanket.

I snuggle closer and hear a groaning sound.

I look up and my eyes meet a fast asleep Cade. He looks so peaceful when he's sleeping and I could stay here forever.

But when I hear a door slam and I realize that's not possible.

Not wanting to wake Cade up just yet I slip from underneath the covers and tiptoe words the door.

I pull open the door and shut it quietly so my mom nor Cade hears me.

"No she's not with me." My mom says in a hushed down downstairs in the kitchen.

I walk to the top of the stairs and peek around the railing so she doesn't see me.

"No. Of course I didn't tell her." She's says, the anger in her voice is apparent.

Tell me what?

I always knew that I wasn't my mom's favorite person but I never felt like she was hiding something from me.

Maybe this is what the stalker was talking about.

"Daren she can't find out. If she does... if any of the kids do it won't be good. It'll only lead to more problems. For us and for them."

What other kids?

What the hell is she talking about?

And who's Daren?

"Yea... I will. Love you." Her voice cracks a little at the end and she hangs up.

Who was she talking too.

I've never heard my mom say that to anyone not even me.

After I somewhat proves the information I just heard I tip toe back to my room as fast as I can and close the door behind me.

When I turn I'm met with a shirtless Cade.

"Where'd you go?" He asks in that groggy deep morning voice as he rubs his eyes.

"Uhhh..."

Should I tell him?

Can I even trust him when I've never fully trusted anyone else before?

Yes.

I decide to trust that voice and say, "I was on my way downstairs when I heard my mom on the phone with someone named Daren." I pause.

"She was talking about a secret that she's been keeping from me and apparently other kids and that if we found out it would be bad."

I leave out the part about my mom saying she loves him because it's not relevant and I don't really know what to do with that piece of information yet.

"Do you want to tell the other's?" He asks.

"What do you think we should do?"

"It's up to you little flower. It's your secret."

My lips threaten to tilt up but I hold it back and ask, "Can I think about it? I'm not sure yet."

"Of course." He smiles.
