"I can't believe that we are doing this!" Raquel said as she walked beside Alicia towards the rooftop terrace of the restaurant where they had to meet Andres and Sergio. "Had you called for backup yesterday, we could have had them behind bars already. Instead we are going to have dinner with them!"
"At this hour I think it still counts as lunch." Alicia sighed. "And I couldn't call backup, they were near all the time. And if I would have called, it would have still been in vain. They were prepared to make all the evidence vanish in minutes if necessary, I've told you already. They are not amateurs, Raquel."
"Yeah... but we seem to be some..."
"No, we don't." Alicia said firmly, and raised her chin with a smile on her face when she noticed Andres approaching them.
"Lucia!" he lightly kissed Alicia on the cheek. "And... you must be-"
"Raquel!" Sergio who now appeared near them as well looked at her with a surprised expression on his face. "What a coincidence!"
"You... know each other?" Andres suspiciously moved his gaze between the two of them. Alicia tried to look surprised too.
"Salva!" Raquel smiled at him. "We met at the fair a couple of days ago. Wow..."
"Oh... I've heard about you. The nice woman my brother met. But his name is actually Sergio." Andres leaned closer to Raquel. "He is shy. It takes some time until he shows people his real self."
"Uhum..." Sergio caughed behind his back and pushed his glasses up his nose. "I can speak for myself, brother, thank you." he said on a calm tone.
"Of course." Andres agreed with a nod, and placed an arm around Alicia leading the little group towards their table.
Alicia found it peculiar that at this point it was just her who was still using a fake first name. In a way it made her feel safer, although she was aware that the feeling was illusory.
They were hoping that they can acquire some evidence during this meeting, and they can get them arrested, not having to play along with this until the actual heist, but these guys were so cautious that the intention to catch them at this point, proved to be unimplementable.
Alicia and Raquel shared a disappointed look when they've both realized this.
The place was crowded and noisy. The music was loud. They didn't have to worry that someone will overhear something relevant. Then again, it was far from the ideal place for a discussion. Even though they were discussing the heist, the men weren't planning to share any truly valorous information with them. They were still testing them at this point. Especially Raquel, probably, since she was the newest addition to the group. Every picture or video which has shown up as reference while discussing their plan, seemed to be a random capture of a traspassing tourist.
"Who is that handsome guy there?" Alicia pointed on a man with longer dirty blonde hair who was petting a dog in front of the closed jewelry store in a video.
"Handsome, really? You fancy him and not me?" Andres gave Alicia a jokingly reproachful gaze. Alicia found a strange pleasure in teasing the guy. He more or less accepted that there won't be anything betweem them until this heist is on, but it didn't stop him from flirting, and he still always found a reason to be considerably closer to her then it was necessary.
Alicia did not oppose. She wasn't planning to get involved with him in any way, but it was wise to keep him interested enough in her. And his proximity did not specifically bother her either.
