Andres was lowkey alarmed by the fact that a police car was parking in front of the restaurant. He couldn't be sure whether they were there because of him or not. But him assuming that they were, wouldn't have been just a sign of his egocentric traits. After his last robbery things got out of hand a bit, and even though he was not caught, he was a suspect in the case. They didn't have enough evidence against him, but they were insistently waiting for him to commit an error, and give away something about his next move, to catch him then.

Having a date in a restaurant wasn't too much of a hint in itself, but his date being the partial owner of the city's biggest jewelry store would have rang a bell even for the police.

So he had to cancel the meeting.

He wrote a longer message to Lila, excusing himself and blaming it on some important, last-minute family-issues. Had it been just a date he wouldn't have been too saddened, the woman was not his type, and it requiered some extra effort even from him to flirt with someone he wasn't attracted to. But the information he could get from her was going to bring her millions, so it was worth the struggle.

He took a sip from his wine, pondering what to do with his free evening. When he looked up, his gaze met the piercing blue eyes of the woman sitting by the nearby table. He has already noticed her when she arrived, it would have been difficult not to, the fiery red locks falling on the shoulders of the woman passing him by in a simple, but tastefully tight black dress caught his attention. Why can't Lila be like you? It would all be so much more fun that way!

And for his surprise the woman smiled at him.

.

And now he was there, at first slightly wounded by the woman's sharp responses, he wasn't used to that. But his ego regained his strength as they kept talking, because it became clear to him that this fierce, freckled beauty sharply or not, but was flirting with him too.

"I am Lucia, by the way, we didn't even introduce ourselves." she said at one point cheerfully.

"Yeah... well there are much more interesting things we can find out about people than their names, isn't it so?" he asked jokingly. "I'm Alonso. It's a pleasure to meet you, Lucia!"

"Alonso? Really?" the woman chuckled as she reached after her glass. "Never would have guessed!"

"Why?" Andres frowned.

"You just don't look like an Alonso." she shrugged. "My uncle is named like that. And... well, let's just say, that you look nothing like my great uncle Alonso. And you can take this as a compliment."

"What name do you think that suits me then?"

The woman pouted. "Well... You have a James Bond vibe. You're not a secret agent, are you?"

"No." Andres laughed. "I'm a businessman. But would it be that bad if I'd be a secret agent too?"

The woman was hesitating, as if she'd really consider the possibility. "It would be a bit sad." she replied with a light shrug of her shoulders. "Those guys always disappear in the end."

Andres was satisfied with the answer. "Well, I am not one." he said on a reassuring tone and raised his glass. "So this doesn't have to be sad."

He noticed that while talking, she often blinked towards the street. "Are you waiting for someone?" he asked and turned around too, and he caught a glimpse of the police car still parking on the street.

"No." she shook her head. There was something nervous in her smile. Andres had the impression that she saw someone she wasn't glad to see.

"Is everything all right? If it wouldn't be absurd, I could think that you are hiding from the police!"
