Jake came over to talk just a bit. He rang the doorbell and Abitha opened the door Jake just rushed through without even greeting himself to Abitha. "Alexander!!" I heard the noise of my name from my room. I walked out of my room and got to the stairs. There was Jake holding pastries from the cafe I always get my coffee from. "Hello," I said. Jake nodded his head quickly and placed the pastries on the kitchen counter.

He rushed up the stairs and looked at me. He touched my face with his hands and moved my head from left to right. "Dude you are depressed again," he stated. "Way to state the obvious," I scoffed. "Ahem the shoes," I pointed. He looks down at his shoe. "Sorry, I was just too worried about you." He ran down the stairs to the entrance area and replaced his shoes with slippers. A pile of mud footsteps was spread to the kitchen, entrance, and stairs.

Abitha starts mopping. "Thank you Abitha, I'm so sorry about the mess next time I won't do this again." Jake hollered. Abitha swayed her hands like she was indicating that she didn't care and an apology was accepted. I might want to give Abitha a raise and a break to explore the city when Daniel gets back. Jake rushed up the stairs avoiding his mud marks. "Sorry man I didn't know that you have rules in this penthouse," he admitted.

"Clearly," I pointed out. Jake laughs like a hyena with a mix of a tea kettle. I pulled his arm into my room and then closed the door behind him. "I need a plan to save Sophia now," I demanded. He looks at me like I'm crazy. "Do you want to save her that badly?" he asked. I pointed to the clock. "We don't have time, I'm not going to let her suffer the same fate as Madeline!" I yelled. Jake released a cold sigh. "Alright, only just to make you happy," Jake said.

This time I smiled. "Thank you, thank you." I show with gratitude. "If we don't have time, we better have to hurry this up then," Jake contributed. I laid out a paper and searched up the border of Versalient, the wasteland, and Sterling. "Look, the border from the wasteland and Sterling is closed but you know what is not closed?" I projected. "The border of Versalient and the wasteland?" he pointed. I nod.

"So you saying you will lie low and sneak through Versalient," Jake said. I nod. "That seems safe but what will you do from there?" He asked. "I'm going to tell everyone about the rebellion I'm planning hopefully before Madeline gets married," I explained. "Too risky, you need to lower your interactions with people or the news will get to Joe," Jake said. "I know two people over there," I said. His eyes widen. "Why didn't you tell me?" he rosed.

"Hear me out, you make those two people spread the news," he stated. "No way, they would probably be too scared to do it since they would be killed," I mumbled. "No? You just have to promise them they will be safe when they do it. Just try to convince them," Jake retorted. "Alright, this is the plan. We don't change it." I said. "Just go to Versalient as Alexander, famous people tend to rush through Versalient more easily," Jake said. I nod. I knew that.

"Remember, Versalient as Alexander, find a private place to stay in Versalient and a safe place for your car too. Then through Versalient wear your cloak and head to the wasteland." Joe reminded. I nod. "Jesus I can't believe you want to risk your life for a lowly girl." Joe scoffed. "Hey, not nice," I stated. "So what, I just know if you are happy with her, go ahead and save her. I know she is the only one that made you happy," he said.

"Well, thanks for being supportive enough though you don't agree with my decisions," I started. Jake put his hand on my right shoulder. "I know if we're not going to support this decision, you would do dumb shit anyways," Jake said. I released a whip of air from my nose. "You are damn right," I said. He laughs. "Yeah stop, you sound like a tea kettle." I criticized. He stops laughing. "I'm going to go, there's pastries in the kitchen if you want some," he said. I nod.

He walked out the door with my slippers. "WAIT!" I yelled. "What," he said as he walked back to the door. "My slippers." I pointed at his foot. "Oh." he spilled. He took off my slipper and grabbed his shoe. "Abitha!" he proclaimed. "You didn't have to clean my shoes!" He squealed. Abitha just nodded and she began cleaning the kitchen area from the musty shoe print. The plan to save Sophia got me eager. I want to save her right now.

I might caught up in the moment, but I need to remember I was the one that hurt her plus the news of Madeline and her dad will inflict more pain too. The thought sobered me and I felt my stomach aching. It takes me a minute to realize my body is not used to Sophia gone from my grasp. I stare out the window from my living room. Time is ticking. I have to get Sophia out of Joe's grasp soon. I slammed my hand against the window.

My face tensed and the veins from my hands clutched onto my skin as I sat on the couch knowing that Sophia was still there in the wasteland. I knew she was alive now but I just wanted to get there early before she could be even killed. I don't know what is Tumbleweed's intentions. If he wants to marry Sophia because she looks like Madeline. He is all bony because I know the truth, Sophia isn't Madeline. You can take Madeline but Sophia is mine.

Out of Tumbleweed's intentions, I know that he wouldn't kill her because he is running out of Sophia's dad. Also with his greed, he probably wants Sophia as a wife. Abitha was washing dishes at the sink because she this the dishwasher didn't do any good. It's fine as long as the job is done. Abitha keeps switching glances between the dishes and me. I cupped my face and with into a big thought. Abitha washed the last dish and put it into the drying rack.

She took off her gloves put them aside and sat next to me. "Feeling blue?" she questioned. I sat there on the other side of the couch grieving. "You look changed this time around," she commented. She took one look at both my wrists. "What is that bracelet? Oh, you lost the watch" she said. "Did my experience with men teach you a lesson?" Abitha asked.  "Yes, it did," I said shortly. "Who was the one that disappointed you?" she asked.

I gave a shaky breath and my face darkened. She can sense my eyebrows furrowing. "Madeline," I recalled. Abitha pats my back and closes her eyes before lifting a lip to speak. "So that's why you have been confined these past few weeks," she realized. "The holiday cheer is still on right?" she asked. I nod. "I never seen the light shine so brightly and merrily," she stated. She looks at my face. "It's okay sir, please the holy day is near, lift a smile," she persisted.

With her support, I felt empty. I can't even lift the corners of my lips. I haven't smiled in a while, because I'm slowly losing spark. Have you seen the news? "Alexander Herrington Losing the Christmas Spirit" is pasted in every news outlet. At this point, middle fingers to the people to judge me because I don't care. I have a special place for Sophia somewhere. Since the last time I saw Jake at the festival more cameras were waiting for my sad face.

My train of thought was interrupted by Abitha. Her face shows concern. She crosses her arms. Her face lifts like she has something. "What do you want for Christmas sir? I think it can cheer you on," she said solemnly. I didn't know what to say because I already got the things I wanted. I want to just use my money to see Sophia smile again. I turn my head towards Abitha. "I don't know. I just want Sophia," I wished.
