"Mr. Herrington!" people in Versalient said as I went to a hotel. The hotel is guarded. If I were ever going to change to C.M. in Versalient, it would be not easy. If I were going to change to C.M. in the hotel and get out of the hotel as C.M., the guards would ask me for ID to get out. If I were going to go out of the hotel as Alexander and change as C.M., people of Versalient going to see me put on a cloak. I decided to screw with Jake's plan.
Screw leaving my car at the hotel, I could go somewhere else more private with my car and change to C.M. in my car. Then I would switch cars somewhere, perhaps more cheap, and drive to the wasteland. I should have thought of that plan instead of listening to Jake but I'm not Sophia. I wouldn't think of that. The thought of Sophia in my brain is scattering. "Alexander, smile for me would you?" the paparazzi. I didn't.
The news everywhere already knows I'm not happy anymore since the news came out "Alexander Herrington Losing His Holiday Spirit" Everyone expects me to be happy again. Nope. The CEO of the hotel came out to greet me. "Alexander Herrington, I expected you." I look at his stubble and his neat black suit. "What's the matter of staying in my hotel? Wanted to talk with the other famous people?" He asked. "Vacation purposes" I responded.
"Mr. Shang, it would be nice of you just hook me up with a room for one" I uttered. The CEO just nods and gets started. I may not be the richest like Prince Adubi but I know one thing. I have political status even as a 16-year-old. Everyone listens to anyone with political stats. I sat as I waited for a room. The key card was handed to me. "Thanks," I said. I waited for a ding so I could head up the elevator. An old lady with a faux fur jacket stares at me as I enter.
She scoffed and I stood silent, I didn't want to get into any fights. Especially, old ladies. The old lady got off on the 7th floor and I waited until the 14th floor had been reached. I realized the CEO had me in the most private and luxurious rooms. I just needed a room only, instead, I got a 3 bedroom, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room, and a balcony that looks out into Versalient's river. I only need a room for one person, but this room could fit a family.
"Time is ticking," I thought to myself. That's when I underwent my plan. "ID sir," the guard said at the exit of the hotel. I pulled out my driver's license. "Alright go ahead." I went out of the hotel's threshold and went somewhere to park my car discreetly. I put on my cloak and my mask in the car, then switched to a different car. It has been a while since I wore the cloak. Wearing it makes me remember her scent. Sophia, I will get you out somehow.
I easily got through to the border of the wasteland since the Versalient border that shared the wasteland wasn't blocked. This time I would be in a new direction, so I have to walk far. The snow is non-existence here. I saw a bike lying on the ground. I'm sorry ever bike it was, I needed to get to someone I know quickly. 20 minutes later, I saw the street where Madeline lived. I slipped a letter under Old Hank's door.
Curiosity over on me, I decided to go to Sophia's house. Knock. No answer. Did her mom leave to steal? "I'll be right out," the noise grew louder. The door opened and I braced myself. Sophia's mom stepped out with tears and dampened eyes. "C.M. been long I see," she said and wiped her tears away. I handed her the letter. She took a glance. "No. I can't. I could die," she trembled. "Mrs. Reynolds, your daughter's life is on the line here," I explained.
"You trust me to send all these letters to every door in the wasteland? One person isn't going to be enough to spread this out in a day," she complained. "You aren't the only one, woman," I scoffed. "I trust you, but I trust Sophia more. This rebellion makes you prove to Sophia that you are a good mother. If you are afraid of dying, I'll make sure during the rebellion that you won't be killed. Besides, Joe Tumbleweed will kill her sooner or later."
Her eyes widen. "I didn't know he would kill her! She didn't tell me that! I thought it would be just a marriage. Oh dear, I can't let her end up like my husband." "No, more like my ex," I muttered. "Wait. What." "My ex married Joe, killed right on their wedding day. I'm afraid Sophia might suffer the same fate." She shudders. "Alright, I'll spread it out. Go, or the government might see you. If Joe knows who you are, he will hunt you."
I went out the door grabbed the bike and pedaled to Versalient. As I pedaled, I saw Mrs. Reynolds' figure grow smaller and smaller in the distance. I hope Old Hank and Reynolds carried out the letter. I wanted people to know the girl who brought them clear water into the wasteland is now being held captive in Joe's home. Sophia is the only girl that can make the wasteland better. I hope people understand that.
My breath got parched. I needed water. I saw my car and I pedaled faster. I threw the bike and I got in the car. I drank so much water right after. I drove to where my expensive car was and changed out of C.M. I will miss C.M. I miss Sophia. I drove back to the hotel. "ID sir," the same guard said. "Oh wait I already ID you, you are good to go." I went back to my hotel room. My heart beat swords. Once I get you Joe Tumbleweed, I'm getting my girl back.
