Hyunjin fell to his knees in front of the glass cage.

It wasn’t just an ordinary cage, it was special glass, to keep out those you don’t want in your head.
The glass cage stood in a large room, some would refer to it as a lab, some as a gateway to hell, some as just a room.

This ‘lab’ was identical to all the other’s, except for a few minor details.
The same glass cage stood right in the middle like it did in every room.

The same large screens hung on the wall, portraying the victim’s face, some more messed up than others.
Not all would refer to them as ‘victims’.
Some would refer to them as ‘monsters’. Some would refer to them as ‘special infectees”. And some would just refer to them as ‘lucky bastards’.

This world is a cruel world.
It had always been, even before the incident.
Even before people started to disappear, just to be found back as something unrecognizable.

Hyunjin had seen and researched so many of those already.
He had researched the ones that had already turned so bad and whose bodies were so badly mutilated already that they were unrecognizable, inhumane, and completely insane.

He had also researched the ones that were, well, different
That’s where his studies were pointed to mostly.
To those who manage to keep sane, normal.
Those so-called ‘lucky bastards’, even though Hyunjin knew better.

He knew what happened to those who kept their precious sanity.
The ones that went crazy were most of the time eliminated immediately, while the sane ones were experimented on.

They were found, confused, bloody, and taken to the ‘lab’ to be researched. Hyunjin had witnessed things in that lab even Satan would want to forget, to wipe it from all history books, every memory, just to forget.

Hyunjin had finally been done checking up on one of his ‘special infectees’. They weren’t actually infected, by a disease or anything, but what else were they supposed to call them?
Possessed-people Who Manage to Keep Sane’? Sounds ridiculous right?

Hyunjin was walking down the spotless white hallway.
He felt a buzz at his wrist, indicating that he was called up.

He stopped and tapped his hologram, disguised as a pretty leather-braided bracelet. A screen appeared in the air along with a face.

The face had dark tanned skin, he had an extraordinary nose, having a weird knack at the bridge, and tiny, watery eyes.
The man wore huge lab glasses, giving off a really intelligent flair, which he was, otherwise he wouldn’t be on top.

“Yes? is there anything you please, sir?” Hyunjin asked politely.
“I heard you find out how to pull those horrors out of them?” He asked, not in for chit chat.

Hyunjin nodded, he was actually about to test it out on one of his older infected, since he was on the point of dying anyway.

“We found a new infectee, you can try it on him if you want, but we need you to research him anyway.” His boss told him.
Hyunjin nodded. “Which lab number?” He asked in a monotone voice, feeling mentally drained by the things happening around him.

“Lab GX203.” The man said.
Hyunjin nodded and turned off his hologram, he turned around and headed for the lab.

Since the first day he had been there he had hated the place.
The spotless white walls.
The spotless white clothes.
Everything white except for the blood and black goo that sometimes flowed inside those glass cages.

He hated the way the people here didn’t treat those ‘special infectees’ as humans no more.
They might be possessed, and yes it was true that they sometimes killed others, but Hyunjin hated it to see them scream in agony when they were finished off by his lab partners, most of the time because they were just done experimenting on them.

He felt disgusted by the way they expected him to just ignore his norms and values, how they expected him to be able to just kill human beings like that after he was done pulling the most horrific experiments on them.

But he knew too much.
He couldn’t escape.
He was allowed to go home, luckily.
He was allowed to see his beloved every day.
He was even allowed to have a private life.
As long as he told no one.

In the beginning it was hard, but his lover helped him push through it without even knowing.
Hyunjin could always count on his beloved, except for now.
Because he had gone missing too.

Hyunjin didn’t even know if he was alive still.
He felt like a wreck on the inside, but he couldn’t do anything but pray, pray that those horrors of demons didn’t get a hold of his beloved. Pray that he was alright.

Almost numb he walked towards the lab number his boss had given him. He grabbed his keycard out of the pocket that was attached to his lab coat at chest height.

He swiped the card and walked into the room before restoring his keycard in his side pocket.
The room was pitch black.
He snapped his fingers, and the lights turned on.
The scene in front of him making the said man fall onto his knees.
