lifes hourglass

There are days where I want to do nothing
To sit under an old, big tree and smile
To make my time worthwhile
Our time on this earth, in this lifetime, is limited
Like a draining hourglass, we're ticking away
All our hopes and dreams will be of the past
Leaving nothing but memories and stats

And when the hourglass' last pebble drops, ever so slowly
It is then that all the life will slowly drain out- Like a beautiful, emerging, sun set.

All the dreams, feelings, and memories will slowly disappear- perhaps forever.
Leaving but the trace of what once was, what could have been

So in this lifetime, I want nothing less than to be
To be a single sun beam in a world  of grayness
To fill the night sky with beams of silver moon light

To live a life worth living
Wake up with the early soft sun
Wallow with the leaves of nature and to sing with the crying sheep

To be alive
To feel everything around you
Life is so beautiful when you really try to perceive it

so why do you hide?
