But if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like you've been here before?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?

August 1994

"Dammit I wanted to know what the bloody hell Narnia is" Ron grumbled before looking to Hermione hopefully in search of answers.

"I- I've never heard of it" Hermione muttered in disbelief causing a collective intake of breath in various looks of horror. Hermione Granger not knowing an answer – it had never been heard of.

The old man grumbled once he caught a swift glance of the light in the old estate he looked after turned on. Could those bloody kids not leave a lonely man alone? He knew he was the talk of the town. One minute the family he served were alive, the next they were laying lifeless in the middle of their living room and he was the only one on the estate who could've done it. The only suspect.

"Poor man" Sirius sighed, understanding the feeling, "at least he wasn't locked up for it though"

Harry looked over at Sirius sympathetically, "we'll clear your name Sirius, don't worry"

"What do you mean clear his name?" Amelia Bones questioned from where she was sitting with her parchment and quill out ready to take notes, already having noted down the existence of Narnia and the name Lucy Pevenise.

"I never killed Lily and James" Sirius answered, speaking for himself before Harry could. There was a collective intake of breath from a few around the hall, McGonagall herself being one of them, "he was my best friend – Harry is my godson – why would I kill my best friend?"

"Well he's a criminal on the run, of course he would say that!" Lucius exclaimed from the other side of the hall.

"Says the Death Eater! Put me on veritaserum! I'm telling the truth" Sirius shouted right back

"How dare you!" Lucius continued to exclaim, acting as though he was offended

"Mr Black you have been in Azkaban a long time, do you mean to tell me that you're innocent" Amelia said slowly, trying to regain control of the situation and cutting Lucius off in the process.

"I never even had a trial" Sirius heatedly said though whether it was from his confrontation with Lucius or the fact he was stating nobody knew, probably both.

Amelia wrote it down on her parchment, to check the records for Sirius Black's trial.

Well, he didn't do it. Let those old crones down in the village pub talk about him, Frank knew that he didn't do it and that was enough for him. Still, he was tormented by the rowdy teenagers in the village. They constantly broke into the house that he looked after, smashing a window or turning on random lights just to laugh at him as he limped up to the house to kick them out.

"What horrible children" Daphne Greengrass said from where she sat at the Slytherin table

"I love how you say that as though you yourself are not a teenager" Pansy laughed from next to her, Daphne rolling her eyes.

"I am not a hooligan... unlike some" and she eyed Blaise and Theo who sat across from her causing them to look at her in shock.

Snatching the keys off the hook, he ignored the whistling kettle favouring his walking stick instead. The door to his little shack slammed shut behind him as he painfully hobbled across the neatly kept gardens that he attended every day. The looming manor grew closer, the only noise filling the eerie silence being Frank's grunts of pain.
