The screen went dark once again, then a  light beam revealed a table with a large bouquet of flowers on it. Seungmin appeared on the screen, making everyone in the studio gasp. “Hyunjinah! Please come here.”

An “ommo!” could be heard from someone in the studio. Seungmin was visibly shaking and slightly shy due to the reactions in the studio. Here always began playing in the background.

“My singer!” A spotlight shone on Hyunjin, following him on his path towards the man he loved.  Seungmin picked up the flowers and handed them to Hyunjin.

“This beautiful bouquet can't compare to the beauty you hold within your heart. Everyone looks at you and wonders how someone could be so visually stunning, but I wonder how someone so beautiful inside and out could love me the way you have.

“You have supported me, cheered me on, consoled me, taught me, stood by me, defended me, and allowed me to be who I am, without questions or ever asking me to change. You made sure I ate and got enough rest. You have risked so much just to make me happy. I am so blessed to be loved by you, and now I want to show you the same for the rest of my life.

“Hwang Hyunjin, you are the most important person in my life. I love you more than I love myself. I will support you, defend you, make sure you eat well, sleep well, and care for you if you get sick. I will be next to you in your successes and holding you up in your failures. I will be your biggest cheerleader and someone who will help you grow and reach your dreams.

“Hwang Hyunjin, I promise all this and more. Will you please do me the honor of being your boyfriend?”

Hyunjin hugged him and said yes.

As they hugged, the lights of the set turned on. All the members came into view cheering and clapping, then suddenly more people came into view.

“Eomma!? Appa? Wae?” He took a step back and kneeled to cry.

Seungmin's family also joined in the moment. It was the first time anyone had seen his older sister.

Seungmin went to Hyunjin and placed his hand on his shoulder. “Hyunjinah… it's okay. I have another question to ask you, please stand. Hyunjin obliged, but he was an emotional mess.

Seungmin got on one knee and took a ring out of his pocket. Hyunjin began giggling and tears continued to fall from his eyes. “What is this, Kim Seungmin!”

That wasn't the plan. They were supposed to just confess their love and be done. Seungmin had gotten a new ring to propose with.

“I have one more thing to ask you in front of Stay, our members and family. Can I be your husband?”

“Of course you can. I LOVE YOU!”

Everyone clapped and Seungmin placed the ring on Hyunjin's finger. They hugged, then Hyunjin and Seungmin's parents came closer to embrace the new couple, followed by Seungmin's sister and the rest of Stray Kids.

Bang Chan came up in front of everyone and announced to Stay. “As you can see, we have four members who have been lucky enough to not only find a second family in Stray Kids but also love. As the leader of our group, and as their friend, it has brought me great joy to see my brothers be so happy.

It is my hope that you, Stay, whom we love immensely, will also feel joy knowing Seungjin and Changlix are extremely happy. We are aware of those who may disagree with what happened here today, and we respect your opinions, but as we respect you, we ask that you too respect our family and refrain from hateful comments that won't bear any fruit.

Nobody on this stage asked for this to happen. Falling in love is involuntary.  If you love someone out there, we hope you find the courage to tell them. It might work; it might not work, but you won't regret it. I promise you. Tell someone you love them today.

Stay, we love you.

“Love you Stay!” The members yelled.

“Happy Birthday!” They each said.

“Goodbye, this has been Stray Kids. Hana dul, annyeonghi gaseyo seuteuleikije yeossseubnida. They bowed a ninety-degree bow and waved goodbye until the live feed was turned off, and the director yelled “cut”.

Immediately, they asked Stray Kids staff to let them know what the response had been during the proposals, and as expected,  most Stay were excited and happy for the members. The Town Hall, Exchange Island, and the live all worked as planned.

The members and family all went to dinner and had a wonderful time together.

A year later, it was announced that thanks to the bravery of eight men who chose their love for each other to shine above all else, Korean lawmakers finally passed what would be known as the Hyungmin Act.

This law would finally recognize same-sex unions under the Korean civil code, and afford all types of families to be equally viewed and respected in all aspects of civil life. It would also protect the LGBTQIA community from discrimination based on gender, gender expression and identity, sexuality, or marital status.

Wanting to celebrate this human rights victory with as many Stay as possible, Stray Kids held a wedding day concert where both couples said “I do” in front of a ward office official who would certify the union, and Stay.

What began as a love contradiction, turned into a fated love, and ended up changing a whole country.

The End

A/n: I hope you enjoyed this story. Once again the characters and the story took over and took me to a place I didn't think I'd go.
I truly hope and pray the LGBTQIA community in Korea will one day enjoy the same rights, privileges and responsibilities as their heterosexual counterparts.
