6. Avoidance

Dinner ended at 7:30pm. And Kasper ended up sleeping over for the night. He slept in Reko's room on a mattress. They were both silent. Reko peeked over to check on Kasper, and Kasper was asleep. Reko then decided to sleep.

December 14th, Sunday

4:00am

Kasper was the first to wake up. He sat up and looked over to a still-sleeping Reko. His heart swooned when he kept looking at Reko's adorable and peaceful face. He started to reach for his face. Until, he got a notification.

He stopped himself and checked his phone. Kasper's eyes widen in terror. His face had an emotionless expression on it.

He got up, took his things, and headed out of the house. When he was now outside of their door, he texted Reko. He wrote 'Sorry, had to leave early. But I thank you for the pleasant sight this morning.' And sent a picture of Reko to him. He chuckled to himself and headed back to his home.

6:30am

Reko then wakes up

"Yawns. Morning, Kas-... Kasper?"

He notices that Kasper wasn't in his room anymore. He also noticed that Kasper's things weren't there. He soon realized that Kasper had left.

He got up from his bed, took his phone, and checked for any notifications. That's when he saw Kasper's message... And the picture he sent.

His cheeks flushed. He felt embarrassed and annoyed. He texted back 'What the f*ck!? You pervert. How dare you take a picture of me! I swear, I'll beat your @ss tomorrow at school!'

He then threw his phone on the bed and walked downstairs.

"Good morning, Hun! Where's Kasper?"

"He left early. Ma, no matter how late it is, he is not sleeping over again."

"Well, that's a mean thing to do to a friend. Why?"

"No reason!"

"Hun, you're acting like a child- Anyways, I'll be heading to work then. Enjoy the house to yourself."

"Sure, bye..."

His mom left for work; and Reko spent the day watching, drawing, or playing with Mei.

December 15th, Monday

5:30am

Reko waited by his locker, looking for Kasper to enter the school. He was still annoyed about the picture. As he waited, Jade approached him again.

"Hey, Reko! I don't see you smoking around anymore."

"About that, how about you start focusing on yourself instead of stalking me? Huh, Jade. Doesn't that sound better?"

"Stalking you? Oh c'mon, babe! You only consider my actions as stalking because you haven't registered that we're friends."

"Do. Not. Call. Me. That."

He said in a serious tone as he glared at her.

"And, us...friends? Hah, you're even more delusional than I thought! Just cause you kept bothering me and I would respond back, doesn't mean I consider you as a friend nor like you. Now, go away. I don't have any spare time for you."

He continued looking for Kasper. Jade looked at him in disbelief, and she scoffed at him as she walked away.

Finally, Kasper had entered the school. Reko smiled, and he started to approach him. He was about to scold him about the messages, but Kasper hurried away. When he saw this, he became confused. 'Why did he run from me' he thought.

He felt even more puzzled when Kasper wouldn't talk or look at him. Whenever he got closer to him, Kasper would immediately leave. He didn't even show his face to Reko.

Reko began to feel sad. Why was Kasper acting this way all of a sudden?

Throughout the day, Jade watched them both. She knew something was going on between them. And she also knew that Kasper was in the way of her future dreams. She never liked him in the first place. She only said good things about him to Reko to make him jealous and to people to be liked even more. She cared mostly about Reko's opinion. She wanted him to think of Kasper as a rival for her love. But she didn't expect for him to hate her. Actually, she didn't believe it.

She then realized that Kasper was her rival, and she came up with a scheme for Reko's love.
